Motorola MPx220

I need an upgrade that is compatible with the Motorola Upgrade Wizard v1.8.5. I have another version that will not work with this updater. Anyone know of a site? I am also looking for a freeware atomic clock program. Thanks all.....

I have 1.30.0.0 on my phone and motorola's website shows it's the latest. So I have to ask where's the link to the 1.43 update that everybody's talking about.

Just completed updating my firmware from Cingular 1.3.0.0 to 1.430.0.0 thanks to the links in the "Rumor: New Cingular Firmware to be delayed" thread.

Don't know if this is the final Cingular release version and don't know all the new features added yet. Called Cingular help 611 and the system voice comes across a tad deeper and a tad louder which I think sounds better and is an "improvement."

By the way I think a lot of people who complained about sound problems ought to check to see if they peeled the tiny transparent almost invisible protective sticker off the earpiece. Esp if they are far sighted!!! The newer produced MPX220s have "remove label" on the various protective transparent stickers.

Thanks for all the help with the upgrade-all the info has been great! Many months ago I am pretty sure someone here assisted with changing the #1 key and the ability to change the string (cell#+password*)--with the upgrade it sent it back to the original number and you have to enter your password manually- I temporarily made one on another number (😎 but it would be nice to utilize the #1 preset-any help would appreciated-

Where can I get the upgrade tool and the firmware for the MPX220

I contacted hotmail about using xpress mail to get there mail pushed through to my phone like I can with aol. They told me that I need a HTTPMAIL PLUGIN . Has anyone used this before, where can I get one ?

Just thought I'd post this and share my experiences with the repair of my MPx220. Called the "Happy" Moto guy (boy if that doesn't get sick in a hurry) to check on the process for the repair of my phone, fell and cracked the screen, deep marks in the face. Was assured that if any charges would incur they would contact me for CC # if I provided email, tele# or address. 2.5 weeks and I got it back unrepaired with a note stating it was not under warr. and since no CC# was provided no repair. Resent after "nice" discussion with the folks from who knows where that you can't understand and they can't understand you. 3 weeks later and many, many calls plus having it placed on Priority 1 level to get it back to me in a hurry, yea right, I rec'd...

Is this product ever going to be released for the MPX220? I know ATT had stated that it was a future enhancement. Has Cingular made any committment to providing it?

I've noticed most of the firmware updates are for Cingular. Is anyone here using this phone on Tmobile? Any comments would be greatly appreciated. I'm about to pull the trigger on this phone and would like to know if this is a good fit. Thanks!

I get about 3 full days of "normal" use before I have to recharge. Is this about right?

A desktop charger for the MPx220 that has
1) The cradle for the phone AND
2)A slot for a spare battery?

If anyone is contemplating that nice looking blue and silver charger that has the cradle and spare battery slot (has an analog clock on the front) DON'T GET IT!! It does NOT have the ability to charge the spare battery.

Luckily, this is a charger I bought from Motorola with my last phone anyways, but that would have been awesome if it would have worked!

Can I display a wallpaper photo on the EXTERNAL caller id. I know how todo it on the internal.

The word on the street is that the firmware Cingular had been testing and preparing to release, still has some issues. Thus they will not likely be releasing anything until the mid-June to early-July timeframe.

I just got my replacment phone from cingular after ordering it around 2 months ago...When i put my sim card and battery in the new phone it workes fine i just thought that the contacts would be braught over, but they were'nt so i would like someone to tell me how to bring all of my contacts over i thought that is what the sim card is for...? Also will i have to bring all of my programs back over 2? this could take a while if i do.

Hey, I have a quick question
I went to coolsmartphone.com and I was tring to download one of the skins there and it said that it can't be viewed on the phone. I was just hoping that someone could lend a hand with this. I am looking to personalize my phone and I'm having trouble finding skins to use. Any help would be appreciated

I set everything up to connect mpx220 to my laptop and I called Cingular to get the Initialization string. The representative told me I have to sign up for a special laptop option and I CAN'T just pay the $25 for unlimited internet access on my phone and use that. Is this true?

I asked about this a week or so ago an noone replied so I'm asking again just in case my message got missed...

Does anyone have information about how to use the MPx220 as a modem on a Tiger-based Macintosh? I got the phone and the Mac talking over BT, but the Mac requires the use of a setup string that I don't have and none of the ones that I've found for Windows work.

Maybe this will all start working once the Tiger update for Missing Sync is released.
