Motorola MPx220

Is there a way to program shortcuts or personalize the navigation keys (maybe the lt & rt ones at least?) I like and use the MRU icons a lot, but since those change and there are a lot of things that I do use a lot.....

I would just like to have a few things with shortcut buttons without having to go through the start menu and the more>more routine...

any suggestions? 🙂

WIN Mobile 5.0 just got released. Anyone know if this OS will work with the MPX220?

Is there any way to change the default from "Contacts"? Call history takes far too many keystrokes, and the call button only brings up outgoing calls.

I have a Moto MPx220 and love the SmartPhone UI. What I don't love is Windows on the PC. As such, I plan on switching to a Mac (no Mac vs. PC replies, please).

Does anyone have any experience in using a Windows Mobile SmartPhone with a Mac (Tiger OS)? Specifically, connecting to the 'net via BT or USB, and syncing data. I now that "Missing Sync" is coming out with a new version by the end of the month that supposedly works with both the new Mac OS (Tiger) and Windows Mobile 2003, so that might do the majority of it, but I also would like to use my...

I've seen one on a european website but they do not deliver outside of the EU. The case is OEM Motorola and it looks a lot better than the Cingular case and the Krussel case. Anybody know where I can get one?

Start - 8 - 3 - 5 (automatic) - Done. You may have to go back and check a few times as the phone seems to want to switch the setting back to normal. I've noticed that sound quality on the automatic setting is "normal" even with few bars showing but I'm not sure if others will get the same results. Please try this and post your feedback.

Some people have complained about ringer volume being too loud when using certain tones. To adjust this:
Start - 8 - 3 - 5 - Normal - Menu - Edit --and set your ring volume.

You may have to reset your profile back to automatic again.

When I type on my computer in outlook under the calender, the time jumps ahead one hour when i sync it to my phone. example.. I type 1:00 meeting on the computer then i sync it to my phone and it shows up on phone as 2:00. Any help

Cingular has announced that the MPx220 has voice quality issues and will soon be working to replace or upgrade affected phones both in store inventories and phones already purchased. You may go to www.motorola.com/us/MPx220 to register to be notified when the upgraded software has been released. At that time you can either contact Cingular's Exchange by Mail program to replace your phone or use Motorola's online upgrade tool to upgrade your software. The effected software versions are: 0.325; 0.342; 1.30; 0.343; 1.03. Versions .343 and 1.03 are AT&T versions of the phone.

I know how to add them, but I couldn't find where to edit or delete them. Any help?

Just activated service at bestbuy!! Now I am stuck. Do I want the MPX220 or do I keep the V551?
I know that the MPX220 has a lot of cons, but so does any cell phone. . . I am really curious as to if I can insure the phone through my carrier. Let me know if I can.

have gotten the modem to connect to my pc, but cant seem to use the internet off the computer thru my modem, i have all the things i need to complete the task, but where do i put the initial string and how can i use the internet off my computer off the modem on the mpx220. please help.

Recently, my MPx220 is hit-or-miss for its primary usage - as a telephone. Lately, when I answer or make calls, the voice on both ends is garbled. A reboot fixes the issue temporarily, but given my phone's propensity to sometimes do a factory reset while powering up, I'm hesitant to do the reboot procedure to fix this.

If I weren't so hooked on the whole MS Smartphone thing, I'd dump the MPx220 and go to something else like the RAZR, but I really want the Smartphone UI and currently, my only choices with Cingular are to stick with the MPx220 or find an Audiovox SMT5600 and unlock it.

Does anyone else's MPx220 have this garbled voice issue?
