one word: NO

Verizon uses CDMA, The Razr is a GSM phone. VZW's network is COMPLETELY incompatible with this phone.

How come people selling them on ebay state they work on the Verizon network? These are people with large numbers of positive feedback.

Thanks for the help. I'm looking for a phone that will work in the US and the Philippines and looking for the best phone I can find.

Just because they can ship stuff fast doesn't mean they know anything about cell phones. 🙂

The V3 ONLY works on GSM networks. But don't believe me, click on the "Info" tab and check out the wavelengths.

OK. Thanks. Any recommendation for a good Verizon phone that works internationally then?

A sales rep at cingular told me they only have a few weeks left of exclusive use of the razr3 before motorola can sell it to other carriers. He said there very well may be a CDMA version of the razr in the near future. As for how reliable his info is - I don't know.

It is my understanding that Verizon does not have any phones that work in the states and internationally. Verizon allows you to rent an international phone that will receive calls from your cell phone number. Does anyone know if Verizon is going to upgrade its network?

The Samsung A790 is a dual CDMA/GSM phone. It's made to be a world phone for Verizon. Currently, that's gonna be your estbet without having to rent one through VZGlobal.

Someone who seems to always be right on wirelessadvisor.com is suggesting a CDMA V3 will be announced any day now.

It's highly doubtful. Since CDMA isn't an open standard like GSM the R&D usually takes longer, so unless Moto's been at the CDMA version longer than the GSM version it won't be soon. Secondly, have you ever noticed how much larger and bulkier most CDMA phones are when compared to GSM? I don't think the chipsets are able to be downsized enough for a CDMA RAZR yet.

verizon offer "state of the art" phones? verizon, i believe, is the only wireless company that stocks phones. this means when a new model comes out they need to get rid of all the outdated ones before they can start selling the new models. they are always way behind, they just got done selling a samsung that was introduced a year and a half ago.. (A650 maybe...?) i highly doubt verizon will be selling this phone anytime soon.
