Motorola RAZR V3
MAC USERS: Razr v3 & iSync!
Now how to make it work with iSync. I haven't figured out how to Bluetooth it, but with the USB cable one can sync it with Address Book, iCal, etc., using iSync.
Except it won't import/export VIP contacts or any other subcategory of contacts.
And worse, it seems to mess up iCal by doubling appointments and infecting iSync with these double appointments which spreads to all the computers on your network.
I expect that one day Mac and Moto will come together to make iSync work for us, but until then, please post any advice for Mac users struggling with the Moto Razr v3 here!
I'm thinking of buying this phone and I'm also a Mac user. I noticed the posting you put up and was wondering if you had any other comments (now that more time has gone by) or information that would be useful for a Mac user that wants to buy this really cool phone!

go to,
-settings>connection>bluetoothlink>setup>find me
it will ask you to make your phone discoverable..of course select yes..
go to,
-systemprefrences>bluetooth>settings>check the box that says "show bluetooth status in menu bar>then..click on the bluetooth symbol on your menu bar(top right of your screen near the time)>browse device> and it should find the v3..
if you do it right a window will pop up with your phone file..
Can someone please clarify for me:
1. What functions can I use the bluetooth connection to my PowerBook for? (and how)
2. I am seeing some functionality postings relating to iSync, but apparently there are just modest/broken results. Is that with bluetooth? If so, how do you make that connection? If with a cable, is that an optional accessory, or should that have come with my phone? What else can I do with that cable?
3. If the iSync/bluetooth connection is broken, is that something that they could fix with some sort of software update to the phone, or is it that way forever? If it is software updateable, where would you get the...

Thank you.
1. Apple and ALL Motorola bluetooth phone are not supported with iSync. You need a cable to do this. Now from what I heard, Apple is revamping the Bluetooth functions in the upcoming Tiger OS. (10.4) And I think I did hear a rumor that Apple is partnering with Motorola on this. Don't quote me on that.
2. When hooking up the V3 Razr via Bluetooth File Exchange, the only thing you can really transfer is files (pictures) back and forth. (I'm sure there's some other stuff but I haven't really tested it out yet.
3. I too have a Powerbook (TiBook/550) and would LOVE to hook my Motos up to it via Bluetooth, so I feel your pain. Hopefully Apple realizes this and will fix this as soon as possi...
