I'm not sure you can. I switched from verizon to cingular to get the razr. i could have paid less for the phone with a t-mobile contract but didn't because i was told most of the features wouldn't work (i asked), plus they don't have as good of coverage when i travel.

however, you can check out this forum:

according to t-mobile you can do everything but download ringtoans, you can use WAP for that probably...

You cant use the browser... the phone is sim unlocked but browser locked to cingular. It has always been that way with motorolas. you may be able to get someone to unlock that. i however have no idea how to go about that

I have a "Cingular" branded V3 and use a T-Mobile card/service. Not only can I surf the web but I also can retrieve email accounts (I have three set up from my home/business email) I can download my Outlook contacts. I can use it as a modem with my laptop, etc., etc.!

All I did was add T-Mobile to the web sessions and made set it as the default. Very easy, just logged on to the T-Moble web site and clicked on the web set up instructions, it sent the settings to the phone and I set it as default. The Cingular is still there but it is not default! It does work very well thank you very much!

badsky2k, what specific service/data plan do you have with t-mobile? What do you have to do to use the phone as a model -- is that unlimited data time? Can it be done over bluetooth or does it require the USB cable?

Have you been able to try/setup IM?

If you have any settings you could paste or direct me to that would rock, I have the phone but don't have SIM/service yet so I'm still not sure what I will need to do, I would much rather go with t-mobile then cingular if I can use all the phones features and data services to my laptop...

Thanks!
