While it is still "cheaper than verizon" it is idiotic, the company had a good thing going. it was so easy to sell a cingular plan, but no we have to make our dealers work for those news. it just isnt right. the rate plans have all changed too (for worse) how am i supposed to sell this crap!!!?!?!?!?!

Guess rather than selling themselves and you getting the credit for it you'll have to explain to the potential customer that it's still better than what anyone else offers. I don't see what the big deal is really. Sure, I'll have to shell out an extra few $ a month but as the saying goes - you get what you pay for.

I could hardly care less about text messages and MMS. But I need an unlimited data connection so that I can load literally hundreds of applications onto the phone to test them.
Is that mediaworks? Or is that internet?
Is there an unlimited internet plan?
Sounds like I may need to go get a free phone with the current $20/month PDA plan and then hope the S710a comes out within 30 days.

I went to a store and they told me that they couldn't tell me about any of the new plans yet because they don't activate until Feb 12th.

I agree with the guy that said taking a look at ATT's old plans will explain Cingular's changes....ATT charged $24.99 for unlimited Mmode(net) and $9.99 for 300 😡 text messages, etc. All Cingular is doing is taking advantage of the merger.
Bottom line is you take the bitter with the sweet....u get a sweet phone with a bitter price plan, which still isn't that bad.
Either way, I'm with ATT now and once I migrate to Cingular( with their new pricing), I will still save over $100 a month, with all the same or more perks that I had with ATT.

What you forgot to mention is that you can pay $4.99 for an MMS plan of 40 a month. Also, if you sign up for that plan before April 4th you get unlimited MMS until the end of the year.
With text if you sign up for the $4.99/200 text/im messages a month you get unlimited usage for the first month.

they killed the $19.99 a month for 1500 sms, 200 mms and unlimited data.
