Help!
I am having a weak moment! I am considering going with the nokia 6620. It uses mmc cards(lots of memory!), and have you seen some of the programs available for it on handango.com? Somebody slap some sense into me! 😢

I'm sure the 6620 isn't a bad phone. And yeah you have more memory and lots of different applications.
But what you don't get is a phone that visually redefines 'cool'. You don't get a nice big 262,000 color display. You don't get one a 1.3 megapixel camera which happens to be one of if not the best camera phones one the market (or soon to be in the S710a's case).
Think about it, the 6230 has cool applications, but how often are you going to use them? Do you want them just because they're "cool" or because they are going to be very useful to you?
Think it through, they're both good phones I'm sure. But which one will be more practical for you.
And ask yourself, if you go and buy the 6230 today, will you regret doing so once...

Those are all great points and i appreciate the "slap" of reason lol. I am actually seeking an alternative to the s710 seriously, in the form of some kind of PDA/webbrowsing device. Between work and school i think i could really use a device like the treo 650. My other option is buying a separate device like a dell handheld and stick with the s710.

i think the s710 will do most everything you want, and i'd stray from pda-phones. pda-phones usually hold a compromise on both ends. they usually arent very good looking, are large, and have just mediocre battery life and preformance. i'd get the s710a and a bluetooth pda that you can share the internet and do videos and stuff with.

The S710a is NOT, a repeat...NOT... a PDA phone, so if you are looking for something to run applications then you really should consider something like the 6620 or treo. But if you want a phone w/ good quality camera and will offer some of the more simple operations of a PDA phone then hold out until the 710 shows up.

Logan1111.... Have you looked at a Sony Ericsson P910 at all? My father owns one and I can vouch for it that it's a good phone, both on the PDA side as well as the phone side. If you're looking for PDA/Phone, check out the P910.
And I'll still be your friend even if you don't buy the S710a, even if you don't buy a Sony Ericsson! But if you go and buy a Motorola... that's pushing your luck. 😛

I would never soil this forums good(well..) name by purchaseing a Craporola! That said, i have looked at the 910 and it is an incredible device. It has the MS pro support we long for as well as pda functions. It also has a camera that belongs on a much cheaper phone. Although i do not have personal experience with this camera it seems substandard for a $700 device. Thats another thing, the price. Of course if you can convince me otherwise i would own one tomorrow.

I have a question: if i buy the p910 from sony and sign with at&t (to get the phone and headset for $499) can i switch to cingular after? I figure if i get the 910 now by the time the s710 comes out i can buy that too! 😁

The camera isn't all that too bad. It's pretty much up to par with most other VGA camera's out there, if not better.

I have been waiting for the s710 for a very,very,very(y'know?), long time. it would seem a waste to go with another phone now, but if the s710 release is pushed into march i may have to have another option.
