Sony Ericsson S710a

Hey all, long time no post!

I bought a few games from cingular last night, and after doing so, i read the Faqs, and noticed that if something happened to my phone, or if it needed to be re-set, i would have to pay for the games again!

so, is there anyway through bluetooth or a data cable that I would be able to hook my phone up to my computer to get the games off? or am I stuck having to buy the games again??

lets say i bought this phone. how easy would it be to flash the firmware to the w800 or whatever the compatible walkman firmware is? im wanting the nokia 6682, but it seems like its never coming back [tear]. thanks

Does anyone know how to check the imei number of the phone?

I did it over the phone with cingular, it has something to do with *# and a 6 and 0 or something of that sort, i didnt think to write it down an was wondering if anyone out there knows,thanks

unable to transfer mp3 onto phone. Downloaded disk2phone for transfering music with a usb from sony e web site. Doesnt recognize that my phone is connect via usb cable. Downloaded drivers from se web site still doesnt work. also can only transfer files using sendfile program from http://www.lasyk.net. Even then it only lets me send one file and disconnects me and i have to unplug phone and reconnect it. I really hate this my motorola mobile phone tools was way easier to use.

I purchased a Sony duo 128mb stick recently to upgrade the the storage for my s710. I formatted the stick using the software provided with the phone, loaded in, and got a "Memory Stick Error". I also tried to copy and paste the data on my 32mb card onto the 128mb card but still get the error.

The product code is MSH-M128N.

Anyone know a solution? I didnt think I purchased the wrong card since it clearly says Memory Stick Duo Magicgate

Does anyone know how to mute the shutter on this phone?

ive been reading about people saying that their fone is laggy and other people say that its because of the firmware and the new fones dont do it. ive even read how to find the firmware version. my questions are which is the new firmware and how laggy are we talking about? on my fone, whenever i press a button, it take between 1 and 2 seconds to react... is that what everyone is talking about? or does theirs lag more? it seems like alot to me, my last phone was a motorola v400 and it at least seemed like if i pressed a button it almost immediatley switched screens. any help?

anyone have luck w/this or any other ebay holsters? im more of a swivel clip holster guy, rather than the big case of the SE. Any luck with either?

what are your thoughts of the SE holster? worth the buy?

Hi, i bought my phone in the store about a couple months ago and it came with a star wars promo theme, it was nice and all black. i just did an exchange by mail for a phone with the new firmware, and it didnt have that promotion on it. When i try to copy the theme to the new phone it says download failed, i cant get it off my old phone, does anyone know where i can get it or how i can get it?

I'm bidding on a s710a on Ebay and I was just wondering what came in your box when you bought it from the store... This one comes with everything but the software CD and I'm wondering if that's going to be something I need and if so where can I get another one? I also had questions about the 128 mb duo stick; are they available at Best Buys and stores like that? What is the exact name and serial number so I don't buy the new one? Is it in your opinion that because the cdrom isn't included that I should stop bidding on it? Bidding ends tomorrow evening pacific time. Thanks for the replies I get.

im having a hard time connecting the motorola hs80 to the sony s710a. Are they compatible? if so, what are the steps i need to take to get them to sync up?

Hey guys first time posting..
Just wanted to get some s710a users feedback on the approx. battery life uve been getting. My phone lasts just over a day off a full charge, and i barely use it! talk for a total of maybe 2hrs, and RARELY use any mp3/camera functions! SE said it could be a battery problem so they sent me a new one, but same problem..

Maybe the S710a just uses a lot of juice? Let me know guys. thx.

i tryed installing the memory stick reader software on my computer but. i followed the instructions but after it said it was done now icons for the memory stick read poped up. can someone give me more help.

On my S710a, along with ICQ, Yahoo and AIM, there's this instant messenger called "CW". Has anyone used CW before? What's it like?

this phone is really cool, but the reception is terrible, all the other phones I have had had great reception in my area which is Saylorsburg Pa. I called cingular and they sent out another one, and it had the same bad reception. Is it just sont ericsson phones?
