MP3 Ringtones
Can someone post step by step instructions for how to use MP3s as ringtones?
For the 710 I used I tunes and then saved the mp3 to my TF card and then saved the mp3 to the phone, but this way no longer works.

Question about MP3 playback
I do not own this phone, but I'm curious about the headphone jack. A 3.5 headphone jack is a missing feature on the spec list, it only has a 2.5 jack. Does this mean I can use any universal 2.5 handsfree headset for the MP3 player? Or do I have to have a special pair of headphones w/ a 2.5 mm jack to listen to the MP3's. Also, I'm pretty sure the bluetooth wont do music playback...only handsfree use for voice calls. If I'm wrong, please let me know.
Also, a separate question...I know that the bluetooth is crippled and doesnt allow OBEX...does this count for only sending files? For example, if I'm interested in sending a ringtone or a picture TO the e815 from another phone w/ full bluetooth...will that work?

*228 Enables EDVO
FYI. For those of you that have disabled you EDVO to save you battery, when you do what Verizon calls there "upgrade of roaming" *228, it turns on your EDVO back on!

Motorola e815 communicating with another e815
I have a worry about the e815 that I want to purchase. âšī¸
The price of the e815 just came down today! I have the 6100 which gives me a sort of "hearing test noises" every time I have the phone on LOW. When speaking to someone with a e815 (who loves her phone by the way) , she comes through so loud that I have to turn my phone down. I am worried that one e815 communicating with another may be a problem.
Does anyone think that I might be better off with the razr (which I've heard horrible things about)? I thought of the LG9800 but know that I'd have that same beeping noise on low as I did with my son's 6000 also.
Please advise as soon as possible. I'd like to order today!

a silly question about bluetooth and battery life
đ¤
I have no knowledge of bluetooth, but after getting the wired headsets stuck on various objects, I am willing to try this. Can someone explain this a bit more to me? I know it is where there is not any wires, but how does that work with the battery life on the phone? How much does it take away from the battery life of the phone and how long can a bluetooth headset work while talking on the phone before needing a charge?

contact management
I just received an E 815 set it up as a bluetooth device on my Mac and synced my cell phone contact list. I am a little dismayed that when an individual has multiple phone #'s, each # seems to be brought in as a separate contact, versus a different # of the same contact. I can set the phone to view only primary contacts, but then I can't seem to get to the other numbers with changing this view option back. I must be missing something and am looking for any advice from more advanced E815 users. Thanks in advance

searching for contacts
I am coming from a Nokia phone that seemed to have a superior method of searching for contacts, but I am sure I just have not figured out the more advanced features. When I am in the contacts list I can input any letter and it brings me to the first name of the people whose name start with that letter. Then only option I have found after that is to scroll through all of the names that start with that letter. There does not seem to be a means to enter multiple letters to narrow the results or include the last name in the search. Thanks for any advice.

Contact List - Done button doesn't work?
I just got my E815 yesterday. I was entering in my contact list but ran into many times when I was finished making the entry and the "Done" key would not do anything. It ends up saving the entry, but I cannot exit out of that screen without ending the Contact List. I thought that maybe that key was not sensitive enough, but actually the other feature such as "Cancel" also does not work either.
Has anyone experienced this?? Thanks

The E815 Echo Issue
Ok, so I know that the main reason for getting a phone is obviously for the benefit of having a phone, (meaning excellent reception and so on).
But, I've browsed around and noticed there is an echo issue going around within the microphone. So does anyone know about any fixes anytime soon? Or if not are there any phones Verizon offers that are close to the specs of the E815. And no, I'm not talking about the VX-8100, the retail price of $440 is definitely not worth it. I was thinking about the VX-8000 but then I'm not too sure about how good the reception is closely compared to the E815, plus it is $90 more than the E815 retail and the features don't seem to scream $390.

Battery is screwed
How come whenever i try to charge my battery, it says its charging then it says it isn't... it keeps on zoning out like this every 5 seconds. Sometimes when i try to charge it, it says Unable to Charge? Now i just got my cell phone swapped last week for a new one, and already am having issues. Is it just me or is everyone having problems with this phone...! đ

Antenna
Has anyone changed their antenna? I am thinking of putting on a stubby, and was curious if anyone has done this, and what your experiences with it were.
I know a lot depends on the area, signal, and proximity to satellites, but in general, any thoughts?
Battery dies too QUick...
Battery life drains wayy too fast. I don't wunna turn off EVDO because won't i need it for VCAST? I can charge my battery all night, and the battery would be drained by around 8 or 9 in the evening
Please give me some ideas of what to do..?!

My E815 battery experiences
When I first got my phone several months ago,
the battery life was just a day or two for the
first few cycles. My wife would get substantially longer with her identical phone.
Now, I typically get 5 days before I'm down to one bar.
Here's what I've learned:
When at work there was a lot more drain, because of the poor to nonexistent reception in the building. Disabling EVDO seemed to help this (although I haven't re-enabled it to check), so now there's not much less battery life on work days. With EVDO disabled, the phone goes into a "power save" mode, which I assume means it's not even trying to reconnect for a while. Hitting the power button seems to force a reattempt to reconnect, but it doesn't always work. It's overall g...
