Motorola E815 / E816 Hollywood

It seems that every pix message I try to send fails. Some stay at 0%, others get to like 10% and stop. Any advice?

I had an echo problem and I exchanged my phone one time and the second one has not had the problem since. Does everyone have an echo problem? Or is it just a select few?

Is there a way to view pictures on the phone that uses the full screen? The viewing program as it is wastes a large part of the lower area to show some controls. Pictures would look a lot better if they used the whole 176x220 area.

I'm very confused. ☹️ The thread on the HOLLYWOOD phone below gives a link to ampd.com and says the all black case phone will be released early in 2006. I've just ordered the E815. Verizon says it is the "Hollywood" and knows nothing about another phone coming out.

What should I do? I want the black one because I'm still grieving for my Star Tac, and don't want to get stuck with last year's model. I have 15 days to exchange.

Does anyone know if the phones are different; will Verizon be offering the one on ampd.com and, if so, when is it coming out? Also, has anyone else had trouble with Verizon shipping phones?

I found this on buy.com. Is it as good of a deal as I think it is, since Verizon stores are selling same thing for over $60 + tax?

I got my E815 with Verizon Plan a week before and I am repeatedly loosing calls. I cannot complete a call about 50% of the time, it gives the message "call lost" or no message without any audio alert. Sometimes it is every minute or even when the other phone is just ringing. Plus I have echo problem. The signal strength is always 5 bars. I think it is a software problem. Do I have to return this phone and get the other e815 or there is any other way to fix it? Please help.

I have a phone that I bought from what I thought was VZW at the local mall (in one of those free-standing booths) just before Christmas, only to find out that it was an independent company using the VZW logo.

One of the phones is not working properly (calls go directly to VM without ringing) and I need to return it. I bought it 14 days ago, and they said to return it to them during the first 15 days, and then to VZW after that, and that there is a 1 year manufactuer warrentee. However, I have been worrying because I have been trying to reach them by phone but the phone just keeps ringing. Unfortunately, I am away visiting family and will only get back tomorrow. Am worried that when I get back there might not be anyone at the booth.

While recording video, making voice memos, and using the phone while on speakerphone unless I'm right in front of the phone the mic isn't picking up sound well. You can't hear people from a few feet away clearly at all if they aren't right in front of the phone during a video, and if the phone is more than 3 feet away from me for the speakerphone people can't hear me that well. Is anyone else having this problem? I've read that some people say that the mic is very good, but for me the mic is very bad.

Anyone want to trade??

I have a question for anyone who has this phone...can you customize each directional button shortcut, or can you only customize one of them?

I dont need the shortcut for mobile web or evdo, I wanted to be able to program a bluetooh shortcut and a calendar shortcut...Does anyone know if this is possible?

Any info would be great, I think I'm gonna pick this phone up next week and I wanted to know if you could do this. Thanks for all of your input and have a great holiday!

I love this phone and want to get one off ebay, but need to know if it will work in Australia? Does anyone have any ideas?

Does the E815 allow you to use the security feature of only allowing your contacts to call you and dump everyone else directly to email like the razr?

Two issues:
1) The T-9 (iType) function does not work for writing e-mail.
2) When I sign onto AOL, there is a screen to enter user name and password and a box to store this information. It's impossible to check the box, which means you have to enter username and password every time. Verizon tech support says it's an AOL problem. AOL says it's a Verizon problem. Motorola says it's not their problem. I've spent a lot of time on hold and talking to support people with no results. Would appreciate any advice. It's very tedious to keep entering username and password.

Well, I think its time for me to upgrade, my phone is beat up and showing its age. I love Motorola and my v710 has been nothing short of awesome. The only short comings I see from the v710 are the camera (rarely used, but a nice novelty to have), and the battery life (previous phones, i710, v400, v300, and couple other Cingular TDMA Nokias). The durability has been outstanding (dropped it so the bottom half fully submerged in the puddle and it still works perfectly), and it holds a signal better then my other Verizon phones (business phone, and my mother's).

I want to stick with Motorola, since their phones have been so good to me, so I see my options are the new RAZR and the e815 if I want to keep a high profile phone. I've read a lo...

hey everyone,

I was just wondering how good the reception really is on this phone? I have heard wonderful things about reception and I live in area where I get 0-1 bars on the regular network, or 0-3 on the extended network (I use an LG 8000). I am curious if this phone might help my reception issues and I just wanted to hear any "scoopers" comments on their experience with the reception on this phone. Thanks in advance for any info/posts and Happy Holidays everybody!

P.S. Tri-mode is not an issue for me, and I have tried tri mode phones in my house and my all-digital phone actually gets better service.
