Okay boys - I was not going to write this , but I feel it my responsibilty to tell the world what's happening..

1st - You guys have to know that I am a huge Samsung guy.. A530 and A670 are my favorite phones ever. These phones are small and the voice quality is great and they never drop calls, but enough with that , we are onto Bluetooth, Speakerphones and Vcast and yes we all want this..

Well, having the 815 for 2 weeks , I have learned quite a bit of the phone and what it's downfalls are.. It's Positives outweigh the downs and make it quite a great phone and it's good for Moto to be back in the game..

8100 for the day -
I picked it up Wednesday and returned it Wed. night by 9PM.. No Sh%$T !

Why you ask ?

Earpiece Problem -...

How was the E815's reception on the trip? Did you make or receive any calls?

Real scoop my A**!!

1.) earpiece-
I can hear the person perfectly fine. What you have to do is position your ear OVER the earpiece. Not near to it... This fixes that problem!

2.)Vcast- I have downloaded a vcast game and several videos with no problems.. could be your network? Im in the LA area

3.)Speakerphone- Never tried it. Heard it's better than the 815 though.I also heard that on the high setting it's muffled? I don't know. I will never use it. Just put the phone to your ear...

4.) Reception- I never had a dropped call using the lg 6000 or the lg 8100 yet...

5.) Radiation- stub or pull out antenna- No real proof that the difference actually affect us at the dosage we get. ALSO, most phones (8100 anyways) are going all...

Hello, we have both phones also and on the way home this evening we both made some calls. My partners phone (Motorola e815) lost two calls in the course of 15 minutes and I had no problems at all on my phone (LG VX8100). We both seem to get the same number of bars as far as reception goes but I did get more bars on the LG once we were inside the city. I think reception and dropped calls has alot to do with were you are at the time and can vary from phone to phone of the same model. I also have no problems with VCast on my 8100 (although Vcast is deffinately not worth the money ).

The 815 has not dropped a call yet..

The Vcast spools up in half the time as the 8100

The Speaker phone is many times better on the 815 and usable. It's horrid on the 8100

FOr those of you who think the reception is the same..

Put them both in your hands in an area without 5 bars obviously.. The Lg will be at 2 and the moto at 4-5..

It's simple and has always been this way.. LG does not maintain calls like Moto's and Samsungs..

The 8100 has huge issues that you will all see.

I have no vested interest in what you buy and I really don't care how you spend your money. But if you want to buy a phone with sub standard features and functions buy the 8100.

Wait until you see how bad voice dialing is on the LG..

I have n...

I have found most everything you said to be untrue...I have both phones and I get the same signal strength on both, the speakerphone actually sounds better on the 8100 since the speaker is not pressed against my hand on the back of the phone like it is on the e815, I do not notice any difference in VCast speeds on either phone, and I have not lost any calls on the 8100 whereas we have lost a few on the e815. I do concede that the speakerphone on the e815 will work with the phone closed if you leave the speaker feature active but it drains the battery very rapidly so I would not suggest it. Also I have had a few pix message issues on the e815...they are slow to arrive and sometime act quirky.

Yeah right,

The quarantine for for about 15 minutes when they realized they forgot to put Vcast patch on the phones.. They fixed it within 1 day..

8100's are having issues.. The stores are getting them back already..

Wait and see !!!

They drop calls and they drop calls and they drop calls..

If you guys know this, why are you fighting it.. They drop calls. Just wait !!

Verizon does that for their customers safety and privacy so they had to disable a few sharing features

One phone having 2 bars and one having 5 means nothing. How much actual signal strength is actually represented in each bar? Right, that's what I thought. As long as the phone can make and receive calls whether it has 5 bars or 1 really means nothing, it is the actual RF performance of the phone. Some of the new phones for Sprint have 6 bars, so they must get better reception than any other phone out there. 🙄

Personally, I don't think there is anyone here that will argue the point that Motorola's are known to have great RF performance, even slightly better than LG. However, I know a lot of people here (myself included) that are right in their belief that Motorola's build quality is crap. The Moto and LG may jockey back and fo...

Actually, I had a choice (courtesy of Verizon) between the E815 and the 8100. I looked at the Moto and hated the keypad feel (like you can scrape the entire keypad off with your finger nail) I also couldn't get the cheap plastic 4 touchpad to work without having to pound on it.

I choose the 8100 instead and so far this thing has been great. I can't believe how fast thing goes through the internet. It took me 30 seconds from open to close to check my email on Yahoo.

I chose the 8100 as well for the same reason, it feels like a quality piece, where the Motorola just feels like a piece. I have never had an problem with any LG I have owned and had nothing but problems with my 710 and previous motos. I love my 8100. And although right now the 815 has more features, we haven;t had time to fully explore and crack the 8100 yet. 😈
