CAN somebody please help... seriously
Used a friends 8100 today... wanna buy mine on Monday, but has anyone HONESTLY figured out what to do about the Volume fluctuating in the earpiece (normal, loooow, normal, loooow)??? Also, id it THAT common that pictures in the gallery are being LOST???? He charged his phone last night and it was down to a bar by 5pm, has that happened to ANY of you!?? I'd really appreciate all your honesty, THANKS!

I have had my phone for 3 full days now and I havent had that volume problem people are talking about. The picture thing i have had happen to me, but the pictures dont get "lost". They come back once you reset the phone. It might have to do with the amount of ram or something, i dont know. I would recommend this phone, despite the mp3 player issues. THe battery has been great to me...I have never had it go to less than 2 bars, and thats with normal amount of talking (~2 hours a day) and pretty extensive camera use. Different people have different experiences w/ this phone (and every other cell phone) so you cant take a few peoples experiences as universal. I recommend this phone w/ no doubts.

I'm a South Floridian maybe near you so I can tell you that the reception is absolutely great. Always at least 3 bars if that really means anything. My phone does do the auto volume thing and it is annoying (hoping their is a fix in a s/w update), but there are sooooo many features that it hasn't affected me too much... yet. I don't get the picture disappearing problem although there is a shutter delay when taking a picture. As for battery, I charged my battery right after coming back from the start Friday morning and it fully discharged at midnight this morning.
Hope that helped.

set auto volume off/on (i've heard both, my phone doesn't do the fluctuating any more, and auto volume is off i believe)
set voice privacy from enhanced to standard

This is exactly what I was going to suggest. I have done this with every LG phone I have ever owned and it solved any volume issues everytime. I do it as force of habit now as soon as I take one out of the box.
