TTY Mode?

Thanks, I'll try that to. But while we're on this subject, what is TTY and how would this help my sound?

I believe it allows the phone to be used with TTY devices (telecommunication devices for the deaf).
Hopefully there is something built into the phone that might enhance the volume situation.
But, it's just something I'm trying. I'm not sure it will help ultimately.

This is what the on-line manual says:
"The VX8100 can communicate with a TTY device, which transfers typed characters into voice, or voice into characters."
I have no idea if there's any connection with the volume issue or if it will help in any way (or worsen the problem), but it's worth a try to experiment with it, I think.
