Looking for answer for a difficult question
Hey all,
I am asking a question with possibly no answer believe it or no but I updated my software for my 8100 (actually had it early because I work at verizon) and I actually want to put my software back to the original software. There seems to be a glitch in the new software that doesn't allow you to use the original Media Player (By using menu, 0, 000000, Get It Now Settings, Get It Now, Mediaplayer) Once you have the new software and you try to access it as soon as you go to play a file the phone freezes up. Being since I'm not getting a SD card anytime soon and I've been able to put all my custom ringtones and all on the phone, I wanted to know if any one might have any Idea where I could possibly find the original 8100 software t...

Swap your phone for one with the original software. I did. My BT headset wouldn't stay connected with update. After 3 flashes and 2 new phones, I made them give me one with orig software. No problems so far.

No comment on prior post, but as for finding the original software, good luck.
I would think that the original software version is about non-existent due to the fact that it is version one, and therefore, all of the phones start with that in them. (never made it to the PC). for all subsequent versions though, I recommend saving them to a personal folder so that you can reference it later, if what your saying is that you may only have the most recent version.

I got mine in Menlo Park Mall, NJ.. Flashing there takes almost 2 hrs. Hazlet had the update. Ask around. I'm sure they're around.

Just curious, what can you use the original media player for? And if you have the update w/ the mp3 player functionable now, why wouldn't you just use that? I don't mean to sound stupid, but I don't have the update yet and have never messed around with "menu 0" for fear of messing up my phone, but my friend went to the media player on hers and we weren't able to do anything with it. What can it be used for and how?

Pretty much the update fixes most of the problems with the volume the pix not showing up and few other software issues in the original software, but for the MP3 player makes it so you can you the three outside button to play MP3s now that original media player allowed you to play any movies you put on the phone through there (not ones you recorded on the video camera but like actual movies or tv shows or what not) Those only show up through that media player no through My Flix which would of been a lot easier. With the update you can only use that MP3 player/media player (that can be used on the outside of the phone) with your SD card, which I'm not probably going to get for a few monthes, which pretty much made the update useless for me si...

I dont know where you live, Supe, but considering the fact that 60 to 70 percent of the country doesnt have the update, why not just take a ride to a neighboring town or state and get the phone flashed with Version 1?
