Slow transfer using bitpim

phonephanatic

Sep 7, 2005, 11:26 PM
I am having a very frustrating time trying to transfer files to the phone via bitpim. I am using that vx8100 application to make custom ringtones. However, when i try to transfer the zip file to the subdirectory 'ring' it takes a hell of a time. Its acting as though its a serial cable instead of a usb. I only have 45 mp3s to transfer.

Anyone else out there used this method or have any ideas why the transfer would be so slow?

Thanks in advance.

Ok, I do drop files right on my card like you told the last person. But, without Bitpim, how do you: 1) convert files to ringtones and 2) save them on your card so your phone recognizes them as ringtones not just mp3's?

thanks in advance.

You can only create ringtones by using the get it now or through bitpim. Any mp3s that you save on the card will only be read as my mp3s (and maybe my sounds, but I haven't tried that). You cannot move my mp3s or sounds to my rintgtones on the phone.
