Voice Memos as Ringtones (YES YOU CAN)

Have been reading on a few threads here that Verizon has disabled the ability to use voice memos as ringtones, in other words, record someone's voice and use it as a ringer. This is not really true. While you can't do it easily right from the phone, if you have a mini sd card and a reader, it can be done. Just did it.

Record your memo, and then move it to the card under the Options menu. Once on the card, put the card in your reader and it will show up under My Sounds. Not using the data cable and BITPIM, add a ringer and choose the file from your card reader. It will show up as a QCP file (or at least it did on my system) and then download the ringer to your phone. I personally don't like having someone's voice as a ringer, but there are...

Using BITPIM, go to the ringer tab, click add ringer, and choose the file that is on your card that contains the memo you just recorded. It will show up as a QCP file possibly. Once in BITPIM, send it to your phone. I don't know how much simpler I can put it.

Can't really clarify anymore than I already did. People want to record their voice or someone elses as a memo, and then use it as a ringer. So when the phone rings, it would be that persons voice as the ringer.

If you're confused because I said "Not using the data cable" I'm very sorry. I meant "Now using the data cable". One letter can make a big difference. If you're confused for some other reason, you'll have to pin point the cofusion a little more.

What could you possibly have against BITPIM? It's the software that makes this phone great!

I just would prefer not to use it. Not hating on the rest of you that swear by it but it just isnt for me. If you enjoy using it then more power to you.
