LG VX-8100
Buying cable adapter (usp) from cellphoneshop.net ... NOT WORKING is it compatible? *Help*
Hello, I am new to the phone to computer thing and I ordered my cable about 3 weeks ago at cellphoneshop.net .... I have bitpim, I installed the drivers that came with the cord and it still doesn't work... I contacted the company and they said they would send me another cord because the cord they sent me said it was for a lg 3200 but was compatible with the 8100... Obviously not... Now they just sent me another cord saying its for vx 3200 and 7000 but it still does not work with my phone...
I have the 8100 and I have had nothing but problems trying to hook up my phone to the computer... Is it the cord? Or am I doing something wrong..... Please Help ☹️

I would first try uninstalling whatever you have done and starting over. If you plugged in the data cable prior to downloading the drivers try the other way this time, sometime the littlest things make the difference.

and I have not had a problem. It came with the CD with software,pics, animations, sounds, etc and it's easy to use. I also downloaded the BITPIM and it works fine with that as well.

I had the same experience with my usb cable from Cellphoneshop. No matter what I did, drivers, ports, pc setting on the phone, jiggling the plug, the cable just didn't work with the 8100. The funny thing is it worked fine with my son's 5200. Now he has it. They should stop advertising it as compatible with the 8100. Note that they were willing to take it back for store credit. I ended up buying another cable from Ebay, it included a driver cd, seller was Summit Image, for a penny plus shipping about $7 or $8. Works perfectly! Hope it works for ya!
