Data Cable and Fax Capabilities

I recently purchased the data cable. I need to know how to fax something from my computer through my cell phone. I'm not having any luck finding info on this. Any help would be appreciated :-)

Class-action lawsuit

Anyone interested in a class-action lawsuit against Verison for the lack of Bluetooth applications on the 8100 or any of their other phones? One could make an argument that these phones were sold on promise that they were Bluetooth capable. They are not. Only ONE function is allowed with these phones and that is with the use of a headset. This is outrageous.

Thoughts on V-Cast

A couple of days ago I noticed a new icon on my phone light up...EV...I wondered what the crap was this. So I finally called Verizon to find out expecting the worst. What I found out was that V-Cast was finally available in my area. THANKS FOR LETTING ME KNOW..DIRTBAGS đŸ‘ŋ I got a FREE 30 day trial of the service and was wondering what anyone thought?
The other question I had was now that I have highspeed on my phone can anyone give me a step by step on how use this phone to connect my laptop to the internet. I have win xp sp2 and only DIAL UP đŸ‘ŋ available at my house but my phone works great at home so I thought i would stop wasting 10 bucks a month on the dial up and just use my phone.

My phone is connected to the computer right now with the USB, but I have no idea how to use it. It charged my phone, but I can not find the folder where I add stuff to the phone. THANKS! 🙄

Mini SD Card and Ringtones

For Christmas I got a Mini SD card for my 8100. I know that you can get a card reader and data cable so you can put mp3's on your phone. But my question is once these mp3's are on your phone can they be set as ringtones and how? Also, if i have a sound recorded on my phone and i then save it to my memory card is there a way that once it's saved on my card i can set it as a ringtone? I have tried to figure out a way but i can't seem to get it to work. This is the main reason why i got the mini sd card because i didn't want to have to buy ringtones off of get it now! Also, does anyone know where the cheapest place is to buy a data cable or mini sd card reader? Thanks a lot! 🙂

Really Pissed at somebody about this phone

I purchased this phone for the wife for christmas....she has been wanting her own ringtones without paying verizon's ridiculous prices. I have the motorola E815, and can send myself an email with the ringtone attached as an MID file. I get this phone for her, thinking it might be better than Moto....was I mistaken. Who is the prick that disabled the ability to save the attachment in the ringtone section of the phone? Why would they do this on LG and not Moto. I have a friend with an older model LG phone (4700??) and this trick works just fine on their phone. I don't understand. I have read posts on downloading some software and buying a cable...but sure sounds like a pain in the ass. Who should I be pissed at?? And should I just ret...

Fone Swaping!

how do you guys keep switching fones like that? like if you dun want the 950, you go get a 8100.. and if you dun want he 8100, you go get like a razr... i thought you couldn't switch after the 15 day trial thing.. 😕

do they just let you switch fones if you want? how does that work? do you have to have that insurance thing? i dun feel like paying 5 bucks more a month.. im think about trying out some new fones..

Mp3

Hi,

I'm new and to be honest, very tech-stupid. The only phone I have ever owned has been the nokia,"simply silver" phone that has no features. The 8100 is a huge step up for me. I have figured out most of my phone but, I don't have a clue how to work the mp3 player. I don't know how to work any mp3 player. How do I download songs? Where do I get the downloads? Are there certain sites that work better than others? I would definitely need very detailed answers. There is absolutely no info in the phone's manual, which is ridiculous. Thanks in advance,

Owlet

mp3 to ringtones......a question about this

first off, happy holidays to everyone, hope all goes well for you all.

ok, i have bitpim downloaded on my computer and have been tweeking around with songs gettin them ready so when i got a data cable for christmas i could upload them onto my phone. well instead i got a mini SD card and a USB card writer (looks like a flash drive but you plug the SD card in it and it writes stuff to it). my question to this is can i transfer my created ringtones to my mini SD card that i made on bitpim, and if so is there anythign i need to do in order for this to work. or am i unable to do use these since they are on a mini SD card and in mp3 format since you can't use them as ringtones? any help would be great on how i put these directly to my pho...

lots of questions...hopefully someone can help

hey guys. i got the 8100 back in august and just got a software update yesterday. the phone is awesome but i'm still pretty clueless about a few things. i have been looking at the forums all day and have been able to find out a lot but i was wondering if someone could help me out.
1. what is bluetooth?
2. my antenna is chipping really bad, do you think verizon will be able to change it for me without getting a new phone? and if i get a different antenna, like one that lights up, do you think it would mess up the reception?
3. what is DUN?
4. does anyone know if they have any new faceplates for the 8100?
5. what is bitpim?

thanks again! i hope someone could help me out!

question reguarding ringtones

hope everyone is having a happy holidays first off.

second, my question has to do with ringtones. i have been using bitpim and have been making ringtones so when i got a data cable for christmas i could just upload them right onto the phone and booya, sweet ringtones. well instead the guy at bestbuy told my parents they should go with a mini SD card and a USB mobile card reader/writer (looks like a flash drive that you can write info to mini SD's on). well a while back i asked a sales rep at a local store about loading created ringtones and using them on my phone and he laughed at me and basically told me i was an idiot. so my question is since i am using bitpim, can i load these ringtones that i have created onto my phone by using th...

Is There A More Simple Way To Add/Delete Ringtones?

Im using Josh's ringtone trick from howard forums without the minisd. Usually when i find a new ringtone that i want i completely erase all the ringtones i put on my phone and put them back on the phone using josh's ringtone trick. I was wondering is there a more simple method to add or delete more mp3 ringtones one by one instead of having to delete them all just to add or delete a couple?

can anybody run me through this process if there is a way to do this?

Can you disable the side camera button?

Hello,

I usually put my 8100 in my jean pocket and its a little tight, so the side camera button gets pressed, and I end up with a ton of pictures of nothing. Is there anyway to disable that button?

Its not a huge problem, just a minor annoyance to an otherwise awesome phone.
