LG VX-8100

Ok i know i probably should of posted this in the some other forum but i post here because, one i have this phone and two because IMO this is best phone verizon has to offer. My question is simply, what do you guys think the next big thing out of Verizon will be? I have had this phone since mid last summer and i love it but i must admit that i am never totally satisfied. I always want the next bigger and better gadget they have to offer.

P.S. I'm thinking more along the lines of a new toy than phone 😁

Does anybody know what else you can do in that secret menu on the 8100???

I've not seen any messages about this anywhere else and Verizon's tech support were in the dark also.

If you turn the volume on the phone up too high the audio coming out of the blue-tooth headset becomes garbled. Sometimes so much so that you can't understand what's being said.

I brought an VX8100 with a Motorola H500 headset about two weeks ago, got the same setup for my wife, and we had this problem until a day or so ago. Verizon's tech support couldn't figure it out, I stumbled on it kind of my accident.

I know the Verizon's tech guy was looking on PhoneScoop for help (he admitted to it) and didn't find anything so maybe everyone else knows about the volume except us.

Could someone please tell me what the settings should be when tranfering mp3's into bitpim? I am just looking to see what settings will make the ringtones sound the loudest and the best. Thank you for your help.

maybe i'm just inredibly uninformed. but what is the secret menu? and how do i get there?

I have a 512 card and card reader. I formated the card and opened up the MY MP3 file and tried dragging over a song and it says, "Cannot Copy. The disk is write protected." How do I take care of this?

I just recieved my data cable and I cannot get bitpim to recognize my phone. can someone please give me some help? Thank you.

I've used Josh's ringtone trick from howardforums, its the method to put 155 ringtones on my phone. I used the method without the minisd. So i have the cable, hooked up to the phone along with bitpim and josh's ringtone application. I used it about 3 times, the first time i put about 30 ringtones on, then i put about 40 more on which made the original 30 disappear from my phone, and then i put 99 on my phone now it says my memory is full and wont let me record voice memos anymore...

I followed the instructions exactly and got it to work the first couple of times i used it, my problem is once i actually get the ringtones on my phone by overwriting the ringtone.dat file with ringtones i restored in the /ring subdirectory that the ...

I was able to connect my laptop and lg8100 via bluetooth using sbc dialup, but the connection doesn't seem to be fast. It show 115kps when i click the dial-up screen but it takes forever for a page to load.
Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks in advance for any help.

hey guys, just wondering where i would get a data cable for my 8100 and how would i b able to use the bitpm thingy- thanks- im not that high tech of a guy sorry

I received my H700 yesterday, and I immediately had problems. The headset repeatedly connected and disconnected as if I was turning the headset on and off.

I called Motorola today, and they said I may have the GSM version of the headset rather than the one for CDMA. I had no idea what they were talking about. Does that make sense to anyone?

Has anyone else experienced problems or do I possibly have a defective one? I'm going to try and find another one to see if I have the same problem.

The H500 works pretty good with my VX8100 so I assume the H700 would work as well.

My dad just got this phone and he's been griping to me that he has this wonderful driving mode but he has to press 5 buttons on his phone to get to it! Right arrow left arrow 8 1 8. He could just dial easier! He doesnt' have bluetooth headset and I've been lookin and searching for a shortcut! Anyone know?
LG 4500 has a button you press on the outside, as does 6100, 9800 has a designated button.
Help before he drives me crazy!

I Finally got bitpim to work on my 9800(basically same as 8100). Thanks LGPHONEMAN 4 the drivers. Ummmm, 1 question though....i added all the ringers i wanted to bitpim n they went to the default section, now when i hit DATA it dosent give me a option only GET PHONE DATA, any suggestions??????? MARY.... any suggestion from you?? How do u send ur ringers from bitpim to ur phone...do u use the button??? THAT button dosent display on my Bitpim Ver 8.01. PLEASE HELP!??!

I used Bitpim for the first time today and it is awesome. But I have a problem. I downloaded Wallpapers, and ringtones to my phone, and now all of a sudden when I go to try and look at my pix, the phone keeps resetting itself. Can someone please help me with this problem. Please tell me there is a solution. I am using the newest version of bitpim also 0.8.04 I am in desperate need of someones help, as fast as possible. Thank you very much.

We just got our first razr shipment today and spent some time messing around with one to get a feel for it.

1. Its a nice looking phone, I'd say when closed it looks quite professional.

2. Its thin, but very wide and tall, moreso than even the 815. This is the tradeoff for being so thin.

3. The outside screen is pretty good, but the size is a bit of a let down.

4. The inside screen is huge for a phone, seems a bit bigger than the 815, visual quality is good.

5. Standard VZ UI, get used to it. 😛

6. New charging port!!!!! YES finally!!!!


Now to compare to the 8100 and 815 for those of you in the market for a high end phone.

Just to let you all know i brought my phone in because of the volume issue and there was a memo on the conter that said any LG VX8100 that had the software version T81VZV06 to pull the phone and send it back. The email said that more info was to follow but that was all they had on the sheet that i was able to read. Hope this helps

This may be a stupid question, but will they let me use the mp3 player of the 8100 on an airplane. There is no way to "turn off" the phone section is there?

I don't know if I am the only one experiencing this. I have v4. When I am on a call and get a txt msg, *sometimes* the 2 minute reminder still goes off. Either an EXTREMELY loud beep in my ear if in normal mode, or it vibrates my ear off....while I am on a call!!!

Hopefully the next update will fix this? it hurts.

Anyone know if there is a maximum length for an MP3 on the 8100? I'm not talking about the file name, but the length of the recording itself. I was trying to break down an audio book into chapters and the files will not play on the phone. They show up on the play list but will not play. Thanks in advance for your help.

It seems to me this phone is constantly underrated in reviews and such. Its like nobody (expect us geeks) can figure this phone out. It has so many capabilities that i just cant see myself changing or finding a better phone anytime soon. I wonder why the average Joe hasn't caught on to this phone? Its like everyones on the razr's nuts even though it really cant do much compared to this phone. When i show people that stuff this thing can do i always get the "Dam i didn't know a phone could do that" reaction. I just dont understand why more people don't have this bad boy, especially with it being pretty reasonably priced. Aside from the obvious earpiece issue (which i don't think many people knew about anyway) i just can't figure it out,...
