LG VX-8100

😲 Hope someone can come to my rescue! I've been trying to read through all of the posts and trying to find what I need. I just need someone to tell me what I need to know ... Please?? 😁
How do you turn on the Voice Dialing? I've trained it. I currently have a vx6000. When you open the phone it says "Name Please". How do I place a call on this phone? Only way I can get it to work is if I go through menu's - Setting & Tools, Tools, Voice Commands, then finally to Start Command and "Call Someone". Can't you just say the name when you open up the phone to place the call? This is way to much trouble. Please help me out on this one!

I just purchased two 8100's from my Verizon store. I love the volume and clarity on the speaker phone - it's my first phone that has the feature - but everyone tells me there's a serious echo on their end. I see on previous posts that this is a known issue - has there been a fix?

If the problem can't be solved, I'm thinking about returning them for a pair of e815's. Does that phone suffer from the same problem?

I WENT TO A VERIZON STORE TO GET THE V 6 AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY COULD NOT DOWNLOAD IT TO MY PHONE BECAUSE IT HAS FRIED SO MANY PHONES AND IT WAS NO GOOD
IS THIS TRUE SHOULD I STAY WITH THE V 4 IF I HAVE IT

I've had this phone since 12/05/05 and have been happy with it so far. I have been reading the forum about volume bug. Has anyone figured out how to fix it? I also read from another posting to change the Voice Privacy setting to "Standard" and Earpiece volume to "High" and Auto Volume setting to "Off" and that should do the trick. Has anyone else tried this and does it work?

Second question is I read on LG's website in the Spec sheet that the phone memory is 512 MB, but I went to my phone's memory section and it only said 1308 KB used and 30917KB available. What gives???

I just got the V.5 update it does get rid of the camera delay for those that care. I just bought the A-950 for my aunt on sale. also and you can talk on speaker when closed. Does anyone know if V.6 will allow this. The 8100 is getting better and better.

Okay I read numerous of forums about how to get the songs onto the phone and not one has helped me. I dont understand what the problem is. I have Version 4, I havea miniSD, i turned my phone off and turned it back on with the disk inside with nothing on it. I put the disk into my computer and moved the songs in the folder that said MP3. I put the disk back in my phone went to mp3 and it says "NO SONGS FOUND IM MEMORY CARD. I closed the phone and held down the play/pause button and it said the same thing. I dont know what else to do...is there some trick that I am not doing? Am I supose to jump on one foot or something...someone anyone that knows how i can get my music to play PLEASE tell me...THANK_YOU so much in advance!!!

Is anyone else having problems with false battery life reporting? I charged my phone last night and it was fully charged this morning. I have the EVDO and the bluetooth turned off, and by 12:00 PM it is telling me my battery is dead and powering down. When I turn it back on it shows 2-3 bars of battery life but as soon as I actually dial a call the battery light starts blinking and then eventually it powers down again. If I turn it on again, it shows 2-3 bars until I make another call. I know this battery has a lot of life left in it, I can send txt msgs all day long, but as soon as I go to make a call it says it is out of power?

I have had the phone for 3-4 months and I charge it every night. I am not sure what the problem is, soft...

Whenever I try using ImToo to convert, I immediately get a message that says "fail" - with no explanation or information in the log file.

I'm using settings suggested by others, and have even tried tweaking them a bit to see if I get any different results. I've also tried using different source files (AVI, MOV) to see if one works and not another. I've tried selecting different codecs. Nothing. Any ideas?

well i just got a v .6 8100 yesterday
and it's pretty sweet. i loaded wma files
via minisd quite easily. but i'm trying to do
mp3's and it wont. no matter how short the
file names and all that other junk. i even went into the secret menu. menu 0 (pw 000000).
and enabled mp3 at the bottom of the secret menu. and it still won't play mp3's. i use mp3 pro and its such a good compression method.. half the size of my wma's and i'd love to use them. any ideas guys?

I just got the phone yesterday and I think it is the best phone Verizon is offering right now. I know how to put ringtones and other things using BitPim, but I just can't figure out how to put MP3s on my phone I have everything needed (Data Cable and Mini SD). Someone please help me figure this out. 🙄

I know the Cingular T-Mobile networks are horrible. Has anyone had any experience with the Sprint phones/network lately? I am tired of the VZW BS and promises to update this phone, as well as others, especially the BT. I have tried several phones and headsets and nothing really works right. As I stated in a previous thread, the H700 worked great for 2 weeks. Now nothing but static (maybe because I dropped It. Phone itself, fades in-and-out (vol) as well as occasional static. This is my 5th phone. I have tried the Moto 815 and the Samsung 950. BT also sucks as well as voice dialing. Has anyone notice that this phone at time's lower's the volume when on a call and if you have heard of a fix for it ? Sometimes it's hard to hear voice of other's your talking to on the LG8100.. Any suggestions?
