LG VX-8100

So i cant figure out why everyone is boasting about all the memory on this phone, and i have only taken and saved 39 pictures, and when i go to take the 40th it said memory full, and wont even let me snap a shot! r u kidding me? I just upgraded from the LG VX 7000 and i had 176 pictures saved to the phone, 30 videos 15 sec long each, and over 30 ringtones.... and this phone cant hold 40 pictures???? i know there is expandable memory with mini sd card but what is going on here? does anyone have any answers or input?

Question for LG 8100 owners out there. Does your phone get "warm" after about 5-8 minutes of talk time? Is this normal for LG phones??

😲 Okay, I am probably getting the 8100 again, I sent it back the first time. Now I have my discount again and I am getting the phone or the Razr. I haven't had a moto in a long time and I really like the LGs product.



My only real concern is the voice memo system. before, I could take memo recording but I couldn't access the memo through the menu system. Where is it in the system? How am I suppossed to get to it? Someone that has the phone could help me. Thank for your help.

I can't seem to find a way to change the default ringtone for calendar events. It is stuck on ringtone 2...which is the same tone i use for my phone ringer. I don't want to change this every time I set a calendar alert!!!

I seem to be having problems with the alarm clock. Every so often it seems the alarm will go off and there is no snooze button to hit, only the off button. other times it works just fine and there is the snooze button.

Does anyone know if there is a fix to it and if this supposed new update fixes that problem as well as the camera delay problems.

I read somewhere on HF that the volume and BT problems are a hardware issue, not software. If this is true, they will never be fixed. I suggested a class action suit. I know there was some talk about this awhile back on here. Whatever became of it? 🤣 🤣 🤣

Just got my 8100 yesterday and was wondering, When the phone is plugged into the charger is there a way to get the front screen display to turn off totaly or will it always be on? The backlight does shut off, but the screen display remains even if the phone is turned off. Any settings to fix this. The phone is next to my bed and i can still see it lit up at night, kinda annoying but I can deal with it. Thanks.

Okay I've made 3 threads about his hone and no one is responding so here I go again.

1) Can Bitpim or anything else change the UI on this phone, i would like to have large clock on outer display

2) Can OBEX and DUn be enabled on this phone? If so will verizon come down on me for it?

3) If anyone knows, with the new update can the speaker phone be used with flip closed??

Couple things i wanted to point out about your review.
First off the card also allows you to get your pictures and videos off and put pictures and videos on your phone, not just mp3's. I have video set as my wallpaper i downloaded off the web.
You can use headphones for mp3.
You can also change your display wallpaper. My clock is in big letters in the middle of the outside display and my wallpaper is white not red so it is easy to read? So i guess i am confused, the eri banner you can not change from red doesn't dispaly the clock on my phone?YOU CAN TURN THE DISCO LIGHTS OFF, simply turn off status light in settings and hurray no more disco lights.

I deleted the VZW programed speed dials by mistake. 😲 After a call to VZW and the VZW tech dept. at the store I bought the phone from. Both said that I can not get them back. I am turning to the group for help. Is there a way to get them back?

Well I just swithced to the 8100 from the Razr man is it a piece of garbage...The 8100 is feaature packed and excellent new toy...One thing I am having trouble with is the MP3 player I loaded like 5 songs onto it and it works great but now I go to put more songs on it and they do not show up when i transfer them to my phone...I have itunes does that have anything to do with it? I am getting my mp3's from lime wire though...Could someone help me out here it would be appreciated...

I think I have tried everything on this site to get my 8100 to tether to my pc, I keep getting and invalid user name and password message. I'm using [email protected] and vzw as the login. I'm running version 4 software any ideas please?

I just recently bought a cable, and have been adding ringtones to it. Just yesterday, I added some new ringtones (they were mp3s, bitpim converted them for me) and when i went to try to access the ringtone menu on my phone, my phone restarts. and now it does this everytime i try to access my ringtones from the menu. 😢 does anyone know how to fix this? or is there some way to reset my phone?

i have had the 8100 since the begining of october and have loved the phone... the conly complaints i have are that it feels very bulky in my pockets, cant use sounds as ringtones, you cant use the speaker phone closed and the earpiece volume. now i was at a party and i noticed my friend had the samsung counterpart and it seemed WAY thinner... i put it im my pocket and i couldnt even notice it was there. so i was talking to him about it and he said he could use his sounds as ringtones... this pissed me off knowin that i can not... to make matters worse, he said he could use the speaker with the phone closed! now- are there any things better about the 8100 than the samsung 950 that should keep me from switching... thanks 4 your help guys

I have blank pictures on my phone with a question mark and a hour glass in them, does anyone know what they are or how to fix this? Thanks.

1) Can you use the speakerphone with the phone closed?

2) If you're on a call with a wired headset and the phone is closed, will the call end if the headset becomes unplugged?

This happened occasionally on my 4400, but the call would still be in progress so when I plugged the headset back in, the caller was still there.

On my Nokia, if the headset is unplugged (with the phone closed) the call is ended.

whats the signal strength and reception comparison between the 8100 and nokia 6256? just curious since you have both were you are at. Oh, and do you spread your duckbutter on toaste?

When I play mp3's from my mini sd card, the only thing on the front display is the equalizer. It doesn't even have the song title. Any way to see the song title on the front screen?

Also, can you play mp3's from the card using JUST the front buttons???

ok, i saw the list of 15 thousand links on how to do the custom ring tone thing, no help.

my question is, i could always do them before by just emailing them to my phone and going into the "my sounds folder" or whatever its called, and setting that sound as a ringtone.

havent been able to find out how to do that with the 8100... is there any way to set a sound in the "my sounds" folder as a ringtone?
