hey,being new to this i have a few questions regarding the 8100-mp3 player.

a.what will i need to do transfer songs..[i know a memory card but anything else?]

b.what kind of memory card should i get?[512mb, 1gb?????]

how many songs can this thing hold??????

I had given up on adding my own ringtone. But last night my husband mentioned something about uploading a new version of BitPim, so I figured I would take a look at it. Hmm. Okay, maybe I will try one last time.
Oh my gosh! This time it worked--flawlessly! And it was so easy!!!!
I am not a techno-idiot after all 🙂
Now all I have to do is figure out (a) where to download more to my computer or (b) how to reduce a song myself.
I am so psyched! This is awesome!

Ok, for those of you who are as anal as I am about your phone getting scratches....I had some minor scratches on the outside of my phone on the silver part (one next to the flash and one just under the blue part) and I took a pencil with an eraser and rubbed the scratch with the eraser with a little pressure until they completey vanished! Worked great and didn't mess up the silver at all. In the spots I did, you would never know there was ever a scratch there! I don't know if it works on the blue part or the screen, as I didn't try that, but those are different materials and so it may not be a good idea. Just wanted all to know though, that it works on the silver part!

I have been told by Verizon and now a family member they hear an echo when I am using my HS850 earbud.

I have exchanged this HS850 once already and was curious if anyone else has had this problem.

Still not available. Contacted Tesco Technologies, real big on BT and seemed to think manufacturing problems. LG swears they sold out, but I never saw them available on site. I guess some of you lucked out with the Motos, but LG says incompatible. Jabra BT500 most compatible. So far, mine works pretty good. Misses every once in a while, so I changed some names around. Have to charge every 4 days. 😎 😎

So I've downloaded the newest version of Bitpim (8.01) and I'm wondering if it's as easy as it looks. I'm waiting on my cable and card reader. Wondering if you literally just create clips of your mp3's in the ringtones folder and then click "send phone data" and poof, the ringtones are now in your phone. Also, can send them straight to your mini sd card or do they have to go straight to the phone?

I was playin my MP3s and someone accidently pulled out my sd card(Actually It Was Me) 😕 ?!?!? My phone now says NO SONGS FOUND IN MEMORY CARD and my memory is 0 kb used out of 0 available?!?!?! My phone also says FAILED when i format the card. UMmmm, N E suggestions? I dont care bout my songs, i just hope i didnt fry my card. Do i need to go back to best buy so i can refund it??? TIA , T

I would like to be able to use the 8100 as a modem with a connectivity kit to connect a laptop to access the internet. I have heard that all V cast phones can not do this so as to force you to pay $59.00 per month for hi speed internet service. Does any one have any ideas about this?

is anyone having trouble with their wall phone charger? it seems really loose and it constantly shuts itself off from charging and it is really annoying. if i've had the 8100 for about 2 months now will verizon give me a replacement if i bring it in and complain?

So i got my 512 mini sd card and my mp3s are working ok(some dont write to the disk for some reason), my pictures are doing fine, but when i try to load video with the mpeg format into the my_flix folder they show up there and it seems as if they're writing to the disk but when i put the disk into my phone and try to select the file under my flix it is simply not there and the only thing showing is the "get vcast video" tab. When i go to the manage memory tab it also shows no content available for the my flix section but when i go to memory usage it shows as if the video is taking up the exact KBs the file is. If anyone knows what my problem might be i would greatly appreciate all the help i can get. Oh and if there is a way to convert my mp...

i dont know if anyone on here has done so or not, but i was playin around with my brothers phone last night. i currantly have the 6100, and the data cable i have for that fits in the 8100. i had to download new software for the 81oo but it worked. handset manager..... i bought this for my 6100 off ebay. i downloaded the new software, hokoed up the 8100, it connected to my pc, i went to walmart.com, right clicked on a song preview, saved it to my desktop with the name of the song, then sent it to ringtone folder of the 8100 via handset manager, then set the tone as a ringer. just make sure when u save it, its a mp3. here is the link for the data cable, http://global.mobileaction.com/product/produc t_USB.jsp, and here is the link for the...

Has anyone found a decent headset adapter yet? I know the Platronics one (came with really crappy headphones, at Walmart) was the only one I think that at least put out sound into two speakers/headphones, however it was not true stereo, just mono sent to two speakers. Any update from anyone? Looking for a true stereo headset adapter.

Has anybody tried the plantronics discovery 640 bluetooth headset for the 8100 yet.

ive been messing around with bitpim but havent been able to transfer any ringtones over to my 8100. i was wondering if anyone could tell me how long the ringtones for phone calls and txt messages can be before they get cut off. i dont want to be listening to my ringer and then have it cut off half of the ringtone i made....any help with this would be great.

Has anyone tried the Plantronic Discovery 640 bluetooth earpiece for the LG8100 yet. If yes, how does it compare to other earpieces and which would you recomend for the 8100 and why. Thanks guys!!!!

Can someone please tell me the difference between the adapter and the reader? Do you need both of these in addition to the actual card???

I was screwin around and saw under "display settings" there was 'status light'. I selected it and chose 'on' It confirms "Status LED Set" But I see no difference between 'on' or 'off' 🙄
Anybody know if this is a pointless feature or if my phone is just defect? Is there really supposed to be a status LED that flashes like most of my old phones I have owned?

Is there any other software that can be used with the uUSB cord to transfer data? I have been having great difficulty using it since version 8 came out.
