Bluetooth & OBEX

Everyone knows VZW is watching their own cheapasses by blocking OBEX.

Has anyone with some balls been able to figure out how to change the Bluetooth settings in the hidden menu. If thats possible You are a demi-god.

Has anyone heard anything about the new update? Heard they were going to skip v5 because of problems and release as v6. Anything? 🤣 🤣

Recommendations- New to phone and forum

Hi I recently got the lg vx 8100 and had some questions, i have already searched through to forums and didnt help much, i looked and i have software v4.0 and was wondering about the MP3 player. What do you guys think is the best way to put songs on your phone and what size SD card would you recommend? i was looking at flash readers for the SD cards is that better than a USB cable?

Also with 4.0 are you able to make custom ringtones with the voice recorder? tried messing round with it but couldnt figure it out

Thanks for help...

Access Notepad in bitpim?

I would like to place some text into the notepad folder through Bitpim. I could not find the appropriate place in the file system. Does anyone know where it is? I am hoping it is not limited to the same number of characters as a text message is. Thanks.

question about BT and BitPim.

Can BitPim change the UI on this phone? if not no big deal
Is there a way to enable OBEX and DUN onthis phone and if so would VZW incur some sort of charge or what repercussion if any wouldI suffer from it? thanks again for any advice.

Is there a way to DELETE ringtones?

if you have added ringtones from mp3's using bitpim and a mini sd card, is there a way to get rid of some if you decide you don't want them on your phone as ringtones but still have them as mp3's to listen to?

headphone adapter?

Is there any sort of adapter from a 1/8 inch headphone jack to the smaller phone headset jack? I want to be able to use regular headphones to listen to MP3's on my 8100. Thanks!

Recording Phone Conversations

So I noticed the other day while on a call that if you press 'Options' during the call, a menu comes up that has 'Record' available. I hit it and it started recording, so the display said. Once the call was over, I couldn't find where to go to play back the recording? Anyone know how to do this?

This is a feature I've wanted forever! This phone rox!!

I am trying to import contacts from Outlook into BitPimp and then onto the phone. Is it even possible? I have no idea how to do it in BitPim. Or anything else, for that matter. Can anyone help?
Thank you

BITPIM ROCKS!!!!!!!!!

😁 I just received my cable in the mail from e-bay (only paid about $7.00 for it!) and I started playing around with Bitpim. Oh my gosh! It's fabulous! It's not at all complicated like some of the things that I've read. I'm wondering if that's because the newest version makes it easier, so you literally copy and paste your mp3, convert the size and click "send phone data" and there it is! What a blast! Thanks for clueing me in to this program everyone!!!!

My pictures are gone...

First and foremost, I definiatly plan on taking my phone to Verizon, but I am on vacation and since it dosnt effect my ability to call or text, its not on the top of my to do list. So that will be done when I return home. Just checking in to see if anyone has been in a similar situation...

I have a LG VX8100. I've had it for about 4 months now.

What happened was, I flipped my phone open, noticed my background was set to default picture that it first had when I got it, went to my pictures, and all of my pictures are plain white boxes. All 52 are there, but they will not show up and will not erase. Same goes for my videos. Mosts of my pictures are in my PixPlace, but regardless, I cant view them on my phone and Im pretty upset about it.

MP3 Player works

Yo. I read some other site saying they found how to get to the mp3 player on phonescoop but i didnt see it here . to get to the mp3 player, press menu, then press 0 seven times, then press 9 which is get it now settings, then go to 16 which is get it now, and go to media player. i believe you need a mini sd card and then it wont be so complicated to get to the media player. im gonna get my one GIG soon and put music on dat sheet.

over in the "Review: LG VX-8100" discussion:

On site observations!

I'm currently working for a cellular company and see many phones on a daily basis with different problems. On the 8100, the only problems that I've seen with this phone is when it first came out. It didn't have the proper software for mp3 use. There was a lot of time spent upgrading phones that were in our inventory, which takes quite a bit of time. Very time consuming, but helped with the functions of the phone. Since then, this phone, in my opinion is with the money with all the features that the phone offers. I like the phone and I'm eager to see what is around the corner for phones as technology evolves daily.

Can you take a voice memo and make it to a ring tone?

I just didn't know if this is possible with this phone.
Thanks

Xenon is the best 3gp converter!!!

Xenon is much better than all other 3gp converters. easy to use, no time limit, converts pretty much all video formats including .rm and even .DAT(VCD file). It takes time to convert, but the output is worth it. If you choose the right setting, you will get the same image quality and motion smoothness of source file. The best combination is: video 176x144 frame rate 14.985fps bite rate 192 and above, check both VBR and 2-pass. I have already converted some music videos and they played flawlessly on my 8100.

Tiny scratches?

My phone is pretty new, so I was kinda surprised when I was getting ready to dial in the car today, and when I had the phone positioned a certain way (with the sun shining on it) I could see all these small hairline scratches all over the screen.

They really don't bother me all that much because you can't see them at all unless you tilt the phone in a certain light, but I just wanted to make sure they weren't going to get a lot worse and hinder the viewing of the screen. Has anyone else experienced this? I thought I was cleaning it pretty carefully too.

Anyway, I know this a pretty random question...but I guess it must be the little bit of OCD in me! 😉 Thanks!
