Cingular or T-Mobile

If one were to jump from VXW, which is better, Cingular or T-Mobile? I am on east coast in New Jersey. As much as I love my 8100, if update doesn't correct the problems, I am considering jumping. I am tired of dealing with a carrier who doesn't seem to care about their customers. The same software will be same for all upcoming phones and that scares me. 👿

My Sounds vs Ringtones

I have a question for all you LG 8100 techs. I just bought the LG 8100 last week. Prior to this, I had the LG 8000 and LOVED it! I love this phone too, however, the only issue I'm having is when I email a 30 second song to my phone from vzwpix.com, it automatically saves to My Sounds. When I did this with my 8000 it went right to Ringtones. I questioned the Verizon Sales Rep as well as LG customer service rep and was advised that they changed the software to "encourage customers to use the Get It Now option". Anything saved to My Sounds is unable to be used as a ringtone. Is there any way around this? PLEASE HELP!!!

Help please on videos

Hi everyone,
I've been having only slight luck in getting a video to show on the 8100. I'm using the "super" converter to change a wmv to a sony 3gp, with all the settings in other posts. It seems that my image is not keeping up with the sound. Anyone please help me. The ones who have gotten this to work are you starting with a wmv format or other??

Any help would greatly be appreciated,, I'm holding on to this phone.
LG FAN,
Rick

I'll email anyone my files i've been using.

I just read your review. So glad you like this phone. Just wanted to mention that you CAN actually turn the "disco" lights off. Go to MENU-DISPLAY SETTINGS-7. Status Light and turn to off. Also, if you turn down the resolution on the camera, you shouldn't have a delay, or at least not as much. I dont' have a delay at all on the second highest setting, but others have reported that they do. Anyway...enjoy your new phone!

Regarding your post in verizon forum on 8100.
The phone has been taken off for the version 6 update. Some phones were already sent out by mistake with the new sofware. 8100 with mod is not to be sold until launch. You can still get the phone in stores becaseu they still have models with 04 in them or can simply flash version 6 models back to version 4. This info was on infocenter for employees, I am posting it in here so i don't get flamed in the verzion forum mentioning the info word☹️ But basically it is common knowledge to any person who has access to verizon internal site.

Buying another 8100

Has anyone else noticed there are hardly any 8100's on ebay. I looking to buy more of these but they are very hard to find.
Also, If my family can wait another two months for the new every two, is 149.99 the cheapest they can get the phone for? This seems a little expensive when I can hopefully buy it on ebay soon for less than 50$ more.

WHY DISCONTINUED?

i would just like an true answer on why they would discontinue the 8100. It works fine. I also want to know that since my phone has a year warranty if after a few months all the 8100's are gone and i go to get a phone exchange for warranty will I get a different phone?
Off the subject but what does the V.6 do to the phone, can we use speakerphone when closed?

Challenge to all the VX8100 gods

The newest version. I have a cd from the purchase but i dont konw how to verify that the driver is installed in my computer because 1. when i right click on mycomputer and go to device manager and see what usb controllers drivers are installed, there is nothing related to my usb lg phone info. however, 2. in add/remove programs there says something about a LG USB driver.

All in all im so confused because nothing is connecting.bitpimsupport has nothing to help me

See if you can solve this. IM willing to answer questions that you have about mysys...

Software Update!

Let it be known I don't have any official info 😉

Maybe the MOD (Music on Demand) service will launch soon. I was thinking sometime in the middle of January, the 16th perhaps might be nice.

MOD is "rumored" to require v06 software to be used. So I think we will see the v06 software roll out nationwide really soon.

Just a hunch, being that the rebate cycle ends (and the new one starts) on the 16th, along with new promotions. It just makes sense.

Any agent with infocenter access may be able to confirm my hunches.

Help with Pitpim

Hey Guys,

I am a newbie at Bitpim. I need a little help.
I can send my music to my phone under ringtones (it converts automatically, i just change it to stereo from mono). My question is can I make the song (which is my ringtone) any louder??? I love setting the whole song as my ringtone but it is just too quiet to hear.
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!!!
(I was thinking may be I should transfer the song while my phone is on its lowest sound setting?)

So Confused About Headphones

🤭 I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but I would like to know what are the best headphones for the 8100 (to listen to music) and where can I find them. Thanks in advance! Those headphones at the verizon wireless store look cheap and cost 30$!!!! If ya'll think these are good though I might go for them.

Bluetooth and Jabra BT 350 headset problem

I recently purchased an LG 8100 and a Jabra JBT350V headset. This is the first time I have every used a bluetooth headset and have to say I was very disappointed. The first Jabra JBT350V headset had a lot of interference and was crackling on both ends of the phone call. I had the headset replaced and the problem was better, but not resolved by any means. I took it back to Verizon and explained the problem. A Verizon sales representative assured me that bluetooth headsets are supposed to be crystal clear (when in reasonable distance provided there aren't interfering radio waves, etc.). They said that it was probably my handset and replaced my LG 8100 with a new one. I took it for the weekend away and still had problems. I was hearing ...

Does the VX 8100 play wma format songs?

I searched the archives and was not able to find a clear answer to the above question. In one post, the suggestion was to convert MP3's to WMA. In most other posts, it was to convert WMA to MP3 format. I have the latest version of MS Windows media player and it does not seem to have a WMA to MP3 converter. I can purchase converter software for $20 but since I'm only interested in putting 20 or so of my favorite songs on the 512M mini-sd card, memory space is not a problem for WMA format songs. I loaded several WAV songs in the MP3 folder and the Sounds folder and they were not recognized by the VX 8100. Any help or information would be appreciated. Thanks. sli22sli
