Echo on MP3's?

Hey. I have just started using the mp3 functionality. It's awesome and alot of the songs sound really good, but alot of them sound like I am listening to them in a large room with a big echo if you know what I mean. Do you know why this is?

HELP!!

I'm getting an error message when trying to download to my LG 8100 using Bitpim. All drivers are installed and the modem has been recognized for the data cable and I have verified that through Device Manager. When I go to download I get the following error message:

"LG8100 on COM5: The phone is not responding while transitioning mode from none to brew."

What does this mean and is there any way to resolve this issue???

Please help!

More Info on V06/V07

I am a PhoneScoopAholic, so naturally I have been reading about the different versions for awhile now. I just recently had gotten V06, but have been reading on here about V07. There have been so many things said that it is hard to know what is correct. Well, I thought I would call CS and Tech Support and see if I could get a straight answer.

First called CS, looked it up in the system and said they didn't know software had a name or a version (DUH!) anyway, it was showing the latest being V07 so I asked to talk to Tech Support.
Tech support said V07 just adds VCAST Music and that's it. I explained that I have V06 and THAT added VCAST! They continued to tell me the same thing, then said that the manufacturer may have added anothe...

Problems making calls....

I just got the VX8100 yesterday with version 6 software on it and had a problem with it today that I was hoping someone could shed some light on. When I was trying to make outgoing calls, my phone would say "Connecting" for about 30 seconds before timing out and saying that the call could not be completed. It was also dropping calls very badly and taking a while to register when new voicemails were received. Anyone else run across this problem or have any idea what would make this happen? Any help would be appreciated. I love everything else about this phone, but if I can't make calls, it's not worth keeping. I have 13 days left of my trial period, so I need to figure out what to do...

Backlight Bizarre on the 8100

So this is very strange..

The backlight timeout settings on the 8100 are very weird..

If you set the backlight to 7 seconds which is the min. That turns out to be the time it takes to go from full bright to dim lighting. Then it takes a long while to turn off. This turn off time apparently can't be adjusted.

Every other phone I have had (Sams950, MOto 815 etc..) Go dark in the time set IE.. 5 Seconds.

The problem with the LG 8100 settings is that this is killing battery life. The front display stays on a real long time after checking the clock or messages for instance.

Don't get me wrong, I was an LG hater and I am really liking this phone very much, I am just figuring out what it is doing ?

Just got V07

Well, just got my 8100 flashed about an hour ago. First thing I checked for was the version number to make sure they flashed it...and it now says T81VZV07 ๐Ÿ™‚

Second thing I checked for was my mp3 ringtones that were ALREADY on my phone. They were still there AND they PLAYED perfectly no problems. I have about 5-6 mp3 ringtones that I put on the myself and they work just fine.

I dont have a miniSD card, so I cant test out the mp3 player. Although the mp3 disabled was selected in the service menu (which I changed to Enable)

Fourth thing was the earpiece. Its MUCH MUCH louder and clearer like my old VX6000. I can hear calls clearer and much louder now.

Fifth thing I checked was the camera...virtually there is NO lag. I say virtua...

This is Wrong!

IM not sure, But I think Verizon is eventually goin to try to disable mp3 playback from sd card on the 8100 n 9800 phones with one of their updates. This means we will be forced to buy from GIN. Any Opinions on this?? Also look at this... https://www.phonescoop.com/news/item.php?n=15 37

Low Battery Nightmare - Battery life Issues ?

I got my 8100 about 5 days ago. I have been testing battery life and I did not like what happened today.

I have reset the timer each day to see how long the talk time is.

So far each day I get around 2:40-2:55 mins before it goes to low batt...

Today I was on a call, Low battery came up and within 6 seconds the phone powered down and I could not power it up for more than 2 seconds. Just enough time to see that it went 2:54 total.

Anyone do any testing for battery life ?

Has anyone seen it do this ?

My Sams 950 and 670 will talk for 30 mins on low batt which I like alot.

This thing just pulled my plug big time.

It is on Version 7

Thanks

"PUSH" SOFTWARE UPGRADES

just got back from the new england sales kick-off and thought i'd share one quick note. one of our data higher-ups mentioned that they should be rolling out ota software upgrades. he only mentioned it in passing so don't quote me on the details here. it would be the same as a software flash, ala v04 to 407, as people are doing at stores right now, but it would all be done over the phone kinda like *228 for your roaming list. only downside i can see is he worded it like it would be automatic, meaning non optional. it was obviously still in development so no idea on a time-line. he also seemed to imply it would only be on newer phones so i'm not sure it will ever affect the 8100.

anyway, just thought i'd share.

Games to download limited after Flash 07

I've been looking to download a new game for my 8100 but I figured I would wait until after the v07 flash just in case. I got the flash yesterday and everything went through just fine. The delay is a little better, I haven't had any volume issues yet, I fixed the MP3 issue, but now when I go to Get It Now to see what is available, there are a lot less games than what there used to be. Each category (i.e. classic, action, sports) now only has 2-5 or so games available. Anyone else experiencing that?

Help! Can I Retrieve Pix/Flix Wiped During a Bad Flash?

Took my VX8100 V04 to Verizon store to get V07. Upgrade never went through, but they managed to corrupt all (except for 1 random) pics and videos. The file names are still there but 0kb exist now for each and accordingly nothing comes up when I try to open them. Can't rename or send them either. Are they permanently gone or is any kind of data recovery possible?

*Animation in the Front Screen~!!!*

alright i've heard you can set a flix (3gc or 3cg or w/e the extention is) as your wallpaper...

well instead of using a flix, i've put some gifs on the MY_PIX folder and set one on the outer screen wallpaper.. it does the animation or w/e-

BUT once you leave it closed and the screen dims and eventually goes black and you hit the side or the front buttons, the gif (animation) does not animate.. rather it stays still. but once you reopen it then close it, it will animate then not animate after it goes black then hit by a button again... sup with that?

anyone else notice this??? i guess its not a big deal but it would be nice to have it fixed...

Why are my MP3's limited???

After formatting a mini SD, I tried to load up about 10 songs (all in MP3 format) to the "My MP3" folder created by the phone. When I went to play them, only one had been found. I checked the card, PC and folder over and over, but for some reason, not every tune is recognized. Weird thing is that it doesn't seem to be consistent... (one tune @192 kbps and 44 kHz is playable, the next one isn't...) Any one with an idea? Huryy... I'm prepared to throw this thing at the Verizon rep...
