EVDO makes phone faster even w/o VCast???

I do not know if this has been answered before, but does being in an EVDO area make your phone download things faster??? I do not have vcast or even internet enabled on my phone, but I seems to be able to search through get it now and download games and stuff much quicker than if I was not in an EVDO area. Is this true or BS? Brent

Blue Tooth Call waiting does not work

I know have a collection on 5 Blue Tooth headsets.

I need the Call Waiting to be able to Flash over to the other caller from the headset.

My Sams and MOto do it but I can't get the LG to do it ?

Is this a Problem with the LG 8100 or is it a headset issue ?

Playlist help?

Got v07, and I understand you can use playlists with the music player, provided you use songs in the WMA format. I have no problem converting my songs into WMA format, however does anyone know how to make and use playlists?

BitPim: Does it really screw up the phone?

I am not a very hack-savvy person, and the hack on Howard Forums looked pretty difficult to do. Is there an easier way that was posted on here before? I tried searching ("bitpim ringtones") but I didn't find it.

1) How do you use BitPim?

2) Can you kill your phone with it?

GHOST RINGTONES

interesting. after i got the v07 flash "most" of my ringtones disappeared. i thought it was odd that they all didn't. when i tried reloading some with bitpim it got weird. bitpim said they transfered almost instantly instead of taking a minute like usual and not all of them showed up on the phone. also i noticed a lot of memory seemed to have disappeared. i went into bitpim under the filesystem tab and went hunting. brew - 16452 - lk - mr
i found all the old ringtones were still in there eating up my memory. i deleted all from there and then re added and seem to be working fine now. also before i did this the phone was rebooting every time i tried to access the "my music" link from the phone. i was changing a bunch of other settings so i c...

V07 FAQ's

I found this over on Howard Fourms, but thought some of you might be interested:

How do I get v7?
Go to a full-service Verizon store and have them install it.

What does it do?
It enables the phone to use Verizon's new VCAST Music service, which lets you download music to your phone and play WMA (Windows Media Audio) files you transfer from your computer.

Can I still play MP3s?
YES! But it's disabled by default in v7. You can reenable it in the service menu. Go to Menu, 0, 000000, Music Setting, MP3 Enable. After you enable this, the Get Tunes & Tones menu will have a My MP3s option where you can play them. If you want to use the front button, go to Menu, Settings & Tools, 1 (Tools), 3 (Shortcut Key), 2 (Play Key), My MP3s.

A...

does vcast come standard with the phone and the only way you can get rid of it is to cancel or do you have to subscribe

Call someone keeps restarting phone

When I use the Call Someone feature, with certain contacts, the phone just reboots rather than giving me a list? Is there a problem with my phone, or can I try something different?

VX8100 Restarting after ringtone download

Ever since I got the Ver. 04, when I downloaded ringtones my phone would restart.
This was months ago and I was told then by the Verizon tech that LG told her that I should not download anymore until they find a fix. Friday I was told by a tech at the store that this is a known issue. But he could not tell me if V07 fixed this problem. So I told him I would be willing to try a download if I got V07. And if the problem showed up I would have them re-flash the phone. He then said it would not be a good idea to re-flash a phone with V07, that already has V07 on it. 😕 I hope someone can help me these issues. Thanks.

fun4mobile question

with my vx8000 i send a mp3 snip thats about 25 seconds to my phone via fun4mobile
it comes through as a picture message and allows me to save it as a sound
then it appears when
you go into sounds, then call sounds, then call ringtone.
is this the same case if you were to do that with the 8100

Disabling Missed Call Alert VX8100

I have data cable and bitpim; can someone please instruct me as to how to get rid of the "blooing" noise that is made after a call goes unanswered? It makes this noise even if you hit the side toggle to quiet the incoming ringer. How stupid is this? If I hit the side toggle that means I don't want anymore sound from the call.

LG vx 8100

im thinking about getting this phone. im switching from cingular to verizon and would possibly like the lg vx8100. what are the perks about thiis phone.what dont you like about the phone..what about the front display is good/bad. also, when someone calls, does the status light switch to rainbow colors? if its on.

Protected WMA's

I got flashed with v. 7 yesterday. I like it. But I heard that WMA's play on the new music player. And I saw in a previous thread that somebody mentioned that verizon is pairing up with Microsoft and their "play for sure" network. Well it may not be true. I have a subscription to "Napster to go" and I transferred some Protected WMA's to my minisd and I loaded them on my phone. Well when you press the play button your phone goes into the "connecting" screen but says "protected content: Searching for license" So if anybody was wondering about that, I would hope this saves you some time.
