LG VX-8100

While searching for the best deals on memory cards, I found that there is now a 2 GB miniSD card being offered by SanDisk (www.sandisk.com).

I thought the max was 1GB, but evidently not.

How much internal memory does this phone have? The Phonescoop review says 512 mb, but when I look at used memory, it says only 29 mb (probably 32 minus system files).

Anyone know?

I just spoke with a major verizon store and one of the sales persons that has 8100 she updated to v07 and it messed up here mp3 mini sd card with all her MP3s on it .
Now I would really like to correct the camera delay and volume control issue on this phone . I am not willing to mess with my MP3's due to it all.
Does anyone know what we should do ? Wait for V08 hopefully that corrects this issue , without messing with your MP3 software ?
Please advise if anyone know's anything ?

No, that's not a typo. I just called my local VZW store to see if the tech's had V07 available. During our conversation about re-endabling the mp3 player, he said that a V08 upgrade is in the works which will completely take away the mp3 player.

Anyone else know anything about this?

man like 3 days ago i had my phone flashed with v07 and ever since that day i cant use my mobile web and also i cant use that new freaking softwear.has anyone had this problem too?

I work at best buy and we stopped carrying the 8100 about two weeks ago and I keep getting asked why?

Is there anyone that would know why the phone would be discontinued or if this only at best buy?

Sorry for all the questions tonite, but I am playing with the phone and new things keep coming up. Does anyone have insight on this? Also, my new, out-of-box vx8100 purchased on 1-16-06 came with v06 software. I see from an earlier posting on v07 that I am out of date. Do I have to go to the Verizon store for the new version or is there a download somewhere? Thanks!!

i know its probably on here somewhere, but where can i go on my phone to c what version i have?

Is there a way to create subfolders for each of my albums that I transfer over to the SD Card and have the MP3 player on my VX8100 recognize it? It's really a pain in the a** to dump all of my MP3s individually to the MY_MP3 folder on the CD Card and scroll through all of them.

When you go to record a voice memo and when you save it there are a whole bunch of sounds.(The same as My Sounds) Can these be ringtones and if so how?

Was able to use my Bluetooth Headset while charging phone with car charger. Still occasional echo, though. At least I know they fixed something. 😛

I have to say that every time I get my phone updated there are positive aspects and then there are negative. I'm not even going to mention update to V04 when internet was lost.

V07 has increased the volume and reduced camera delay and that's about it.

Vcast apps are not available to download because the database can't figure out for 2 weeks what's going on... why the list is so small--> I wish they would have told me that the update wouldn't just erase my apps, but I won't be able to download them again :-(

The DUN fix... it's not working.. I am getting same thing that I got when I updated my software to version 4 (connect for 4 seconds and gone)

I would say if you need DUN or Vcat apps, don't update your phone until they fix ...

so i have vcast and that text pix n flix messaging. im probably getting rid of vcast because it doesnt cover in my area. i wanted to know now that i have the text pix n flix messsage bundle for $5, is that free to TEXT other verizon users? or does that use up my 25 messages?

I talked my sister into getting the 8100 and after getting it she decided it had to many features that she wouldn't use and went back to her Samsung a670. She let the 15 days go by and didn't take it back! Anyway....just wanted to know if anyone on here was interested in buying it along with the holster and 256MB memory card that she ordered with it. Just wondering if this phone is considered a sucess by Verizon? It's the first phone i've ever had that I haven't wanted to throw out the window.
I see the Samsung 950 advertised a lot more than the 8100, so is that phone a better seller or something?

I currently have an LG 7000 phone and want to upgrade to the LG 8100. I have an extra AC adapter so I can charge the phone at work if I need to and I also have the extented battery. If I upgrade to the LG 8100 can I use the AC charger and extended battery on the phone or do I need to buy one specifically for the LG 8100?

Hi, new to this Forum, bought the latest version of the 8100, and love it. I have been reading about this Bitpim, and downloaded it, but don't see any ringtones, when you click on the links on the top of the page all you get is a blank page, like when I clicked on the link for the ringtones, a blank page with a musical note shows up, so where are the ringtones?? if there is a archives page to this forum that shows step by step instructions on how to use Bitpim please direct me and I will go there.

Ok, I just got the V07 firmware upgrade on Friday. Activated the MP3 player in the secret menu. I can drag my MP3 files into the My_MP3 folder on my SD card and they work great.

However, when I drag my WMA files (even the unprotected ones) into the My_Music folder, they will not play on the phone. I get an "application digital signature failure. (1049)" error.

From reading other threads, it seems like people have had success in putting WMA files onto the SD card. Are you doing it through the reader? Or are you synching with the phone over the cable?

Is internet on this phone really worth it??? Is it more worth it to buy the internet for 5$ a month or get vcast. Also, does it use air time??? THanks. Also, is there a way to get the internet free?
