Ok, so I know there have been a million posts asking "which BT headset it best" etc., and I know it's all personal preference on looks, size, fit, etc. etc. etc. BUT.....I have tried a lot of them and let me tell you this, I think I have just found THE BEST one (IMO, of course). First off, let me mention what I have tried:
Jabra 250V (worked well, but bulky)
Moto 820 (little static, poor fit)
Moto 850 (little static, poor fit)
SCALA (horrible static, connection and cutting-out; the worst of all of them)
Jabra 350 (loose fit, vibrate too strong on your ear)
Jabra 150 (loose fit)
Jabra 500 (bulky)
Moto 500 (good sound, fit good at first but quickly loosened up)
Bluespoon AX2 (static, fit was just ok)
Plantronics 320 (fit snug, but ...

Agree with everything you said, except for Scala 500. Mine works best out of all of them. Sound is crystal clear but keep losing connection since v04 update. Haven't tried the Bluespoon AX2. Almost bought it on Sat but very cheap looking. I still say location is a big factor. I am in central NJ. What about you?

I'm in northeast Indiana. The Bluespoon AX2 is definately cheap looking. That was also one of the things I didn't like about that one.

Do the people you are talking to get any echo? Every BT headset I've tried, every single one, has terrible echo for the person I've called. And when people call me, I can always tell if they're on a BT headset. I understood that was because the mike on vertually all headsets was so close to the earpiece that it always picks up the other person's voice. Do the people you call hear an echo?
...
I think almost all BT headsets will echo at times. I've noticed that adjusting the volume on both the headset and the handset can greatly reduce or elimate this problem. I have been asking people I talk to about echo on my new Plantronics 640 and none have heard one yet. I didn't get many complaints on the Plantronics 320 either. Moto H500 was pretty good, but still had echo at times.

glad to see that someone on here has finally tried the 640. i had a post up before the year end about the 640 but nobody had used it yet so i went out and bought one myself. yes its very cool looking and it does have a lot of perks to it. it fits very comfortable that sometimes you forget that its there. i also have a few cons about it though. 1)it doesnt have a lg battery adapter for the charger, i mean we are all lg 8100 users so this did annoy me a little bit. 2) the person on the other line would always hear a lot of background noise all the time so i always had to put the my bt volume on the lowest level. i dont think that the 640 has noise cancellation like the moto bts. so those are my only complaints other than that it was pretty go...

I haven't tried it, but read numerous reviews on it and it got a low rating on CNET. One of the major complaints was that the boom mic touched the users face causing muffled conversations and that to get a clear sound, you had to hold it away from your face.

Where can you go in and buy one of these headsets I tried all of BT and have problems with all of them so far. Willing to try Plant Dis 640.
I know they have them on the net from 70-150 but don't want to buy they there. Want to go into a store in San Diego area . Anyone help me here ?
Thanks
...
???? I bought mine online.

Mary,
I have been through several BT just like you and I am not willing to risk buying over the net and it not working correctly and have to ship it back, pay for restocking fee, shipping etc. That is why I am asking for a RETAIL OUTLET that sells it. Told maybe Office Max , Office Depot , Best Buy in San Diego. I will check ..
I am glad it works well for you , but that might not be everyone else's case , as I am sure you have experienced in the past.
Thanks for your input on how great it is with 8100 you sold me on it . I will try it let you know. I am tried 1 Motorola one , 2 Jabra 350- 500 and both I get complaints on . I hope this is the end of the road with Discovery 640 🙂
Thanks again.

I completely understand. I'm in Northeast Indiana and I called all around and couldn't locate one, so I took the chance and ordered online, just going by reviews. Worked out good, but I know sometimes it doesn't.

Mary,
I just bought it and got it two days. Told it sounds better than Jabra 350, 500 or moto I had before. I like the design and all. Think it's a keeper. Thanks for the input again.

Hi Mary
Hey this is phone freak2 I got my phone fixed with V7 and seems to have helped. I found one of these today at a CINGULAR store only place in town and I checked everywhere. I read your post and like you have tried a few of the ones above. For me the best so far has been the Jabra BT500 people say I almost sound normal but to me they are muffled? The Plantronics 300 killed my ear as well. Is the sound as good on this that you say it is? Mine is still charging so i have not got to play with it yet.
Any other help on this discovery headset? Again thanks for the help earlier I had to tell the store that there was a ver 7 the sales rep said no.The new phones in box have 6 i told them to flash them before the sell them cause 6 sucks. 😎
...
HA HA!! Isn't it funny when you go into a store and know more than the sales reps? I love it!
Anyway...sound on the 640 is great on both ends. I think you will really enjoy it. Let me know what you think after you've had a chance to use it.

OK, I got 2 dynamite headsets. The Bluetrek G2 and the nXZEN 5500, which is digital. Wasn't crazy about the tone of the Bluetrek, also slightly loose fitting but the nXZEN is excellent. Sound is crystal clear on both. Where I had static and echo before - gone. Perfect. Only bad feature is the 🤣 nXZEN won't connect automatically. Loud. have to use at lowest volume. Been using since Sat and hasen't missed on voice dial yet. Got excellent reviews on C-Net.
Bluetrek G2 - $99.95 (local store) and the nXZEN is $128.00 on buy.com. 😛

Mary,
I have had this headset now for a week. So far it sounds ok if you have no backround noise at all . But to activiate it and deactivate it to your phone is a pain in you know what. The design on charging it is lame as well. Doesn't snap in the charger . I think the hole design of the 640 is pretty lame for a bt product .
Only positive thing is that it's small. But using the features on it Voice dialing and turning off and on to your phone is VERY BUGGY. Who know's maybe I got a bad one but I got from Amazon.com and have to return it now, unless someone can teach me how to use it with ease.. It doesn't work correctly most of the time.
