EVDO makes phone faster even w/o VCast???
I do not know if this has been answered before, but does being in an EVDO area make your phone download things faster??? I do not have vcast or even internet enabled on my phone, but I seems to be able to search through get it now and download games and stuff much quicker than if I was not in an EVDO area. Is this true or BS? Brent

Yes, EVDO is currently the fastest cellular network out there... with Sprint coming in a close second and EDGE a distant third.

this is assuming that the premium network access feature is on your act. i've come across quite a few act's that have evdo phones without the feature. it's free by the way. if you're not getting faster get it now and mobile web access in ev area's call cust service and ask them to make sure that "premium network access" is enabled. by the way, sprint is using the same evdo as verizon. they just don't have nearly as much coverage.
