LG VX-8100

Now I know just a few days ago someone asks a question that had already been answered and you gave them crap, but I have a question for either of you that has already been answered but I would like to get instructions from either of you because you seem to know the most. I am trying to decide what phone to upgrade too. I have some questions:
1. With v7 firmware, would you recommend using the old mp3 player or stay with the new vcast music and the .wma files. Along those lines do you know if you have to pay money to use that even if you don't download the songs, you just get them off of your computer and put on the minisd?

2. With v7 firmware, what the steps in using the bitpim to put your own ringtones onto the phone?

I just bought a new LG VX-8100. I am having alot of trouble playing MP3's, in fact i cannot play them at all! My friend has the same phone, when i put my memory card in his the songs play, when i put it in mine, they dont. The player doesnt work. His phone has SW version 4 and i have version 7. Does anyone know what to do?

Is there anyway to use headphones or something so its not blasting out of the speakers while im at work?


Also does it use alot of battery life?

When playing mp3's using the front buttons with the phone closed, is there any way to change the bars on the front screen to maybe a different animation or the name of the song playing or something different?

Anyone have a favorite? I've tried a couple but the there is a lag between the video and audio. Appreciated any input before I buy one. The shareware ones appear to be sub-par.

As far as I can find out, noone has found a way to remove these videos from the phone. It is a waste of space on the phone to keep videos on the phone. Sooner or later then, you will have to delete them. I think that is stupid. If I paid for them, I should be able to back them up on my computer. What, if I want it again, Verizon makes more money off me.

I have formatted my memory card and I transferred a song to it by Syncing it with Windows Media 10 by moving it to the card but when I go in to the menu and choose the My MP3 option it says that there are no songs on the card. What am I doing wrong???? Also how do you enable the buttons on the outside of the phone to play the songs. I have version 7 upgrade. Thanks for any help here. Brent

I downloaded a V-Cast Music Video. It shows up in "My Flix" on the phone. I looked at the phone through Bitpim and QPST, and could not find the video. Is there a way to transfer these files to your computer. If not, aren't you just clogging your phone with videos. I think there has to be a way to back it up to the computer or memory card.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Can ringback tones be put on this lg vx 8100, and if so where, using QPST?

Can anyone please help me, for some reason I have not been able to e-mail myself pictures from the lg 8100 phone. I had the lg 6100 and a razor in the past and was able to send my pictures to my home and work e-mail addresses directly from the phone. Am I missing something or doing something wrong??? can someone please help me 🙄 !

I used to be with Cingular and I could transfer my phone numbers to and from Outlook via bluetooth. Unfortunately, Cingular's reception sucked, so I switched to verizon. However, they cripple their bluetooth.....

Is there any way to transfer the contacts in my phone book to my computer and then transfer them back to the phone? It would be very helpful if someday I switch phones or loose my current phone.

I am familiar with bitpim and have transfered pictures via that program.

hey all- i just got a 1 gig memory card and am curious how much it actually holds- right now i have around 200 songs on there and it says its full- now i know that is not a gig of memory used up- just wonderin if it takes more space cause they r mp3 format? just wonderin if that sounds right or there is sumpin wrong with the card

Ok... I've got the new VCast music version, that will not take MP3s, but WMAs. Fine. I have the program that turns CD tracks into WMAs & send them to my phone as music. My question is, "How can I send a portion of a song from a CD to my phone as a ringtone?" 😁

I just read on the bitpim website that using bitpim to add ringtones does not work now the verizon put out the v7 firmware. Is this true and has anybody had success adding ringtones from .mp3's or .wma using v7 firmware?

🙂 Hi all, I called my buddy at the VZW store yesterday and he told me that they had a new BT headset in. I went and got one and so far it is great ( just a touch of static). It is by Logitech and has their windstop tecnology.It says on the box for LG and Samsung phones. It is a little difficult to get around your ear but once you find the sweet spot it isn't that bad. There is no echo, no feedback and the people that I have called say they didn't know I was on a headset, as they have in the past with all the other ones that I have tried. HELLO ALL
Did anyone notice that all of a sudden Xringer is back in the apps? it was gone after they put on Version 7 on my phone. Yesterday I went to download some ringers and poof there it was. I personally like this one best the ringers are better sounding and much more to choose from. Just though that I would let people know.

I took a video with my 8100 and was able to save it to my computer. I ended up deleting it off of my phone by mistake and I was wanting to add the saved one back on, but I can not figure out how to transfer video back to the phone. Anyone know?

I finally took your advice and went with the H500 Headset. I have a question though, it seems as though when this thing is idle for about 5-10 min, it disconnects from the phone.... But will sync right back up if I press the button... Is it supposed to do this, such as to save power, or is there something wrong with mine that it keeps disconnecting. I need to know whether or not I need to exchange it for a new one....

Otherwise, you're right... Best sound quality Ive gotten yet from as BT... and very comfortable... Thanks for the advice 😁
