Nokia 6682 / 6681

Has anyone had any trouble with one of these? I just bought a motorola hs850 and cant quite get it to work correctly. Thinking about getting another type, any suggestions?

I hope someone can help me because technical support was very mean when I called them!

I want to use my phone as a modem, but the connectivity manager does not have the right connection in the bluetooth stack. How can I add a connection to the bluetooth stack? Nokia tech support told me to call the PC manufacturor and IBM (said manufacturor) told me to talk to Nokia. No one will help me!! It is built-in bluetooth and clearly works, as I can pair the phones in Windows XP.

Last night my phone appeared like it was not "performing". I hit menu and where I did have the background, the screen was void of icons. I thought it was just not working but upon waiting... after hitting various keys, it appears it was just extremely slow. Like 30 sec+ respone time. Power off and on, same thing. Powered off an on again, and this morning, it seems "normal". This all happened after doing a backup via PC Suite. Don't know if that had anything to do with it.

I am starting to have doubts about this phone.
Where I did not have the problem the first nine days, I too know lose my call logs. What other quirks may this phone develop over time.

If anyone has any thoughts or input, I would be interested in hearing.

Now I can sync via the usb cable, but not via bluetooth. I am clearly connected, as the devices are paired and I can transfer files over the My Bluetooth Neighborhood link. If I try to sync from the phone, I get a System Error. If I try from the PC software, it says cannot use the connection type. What am I doing wrong?

I have not used bluetooth before so forgive the naive questions. i am trying to sync 6682 with pc laptop. i can see the phone in bluetooth neighborhood on the laptop and see the laptop in bluetooth on the phone, but syncing fails. I can't pair them on the laptop because it asks for a passkey i don't have. Any advice?

Nokia said they have only tested upto 256 but people in the forum here have already used 512 succesfully. Now how about a 2gb or higher?

every time i turn on the phone and access my contacts.

this HAS to be a bug - how the f-ck did they miss that?!

also bluetooth issues - dropped connections to my laptop, and random power off's of the phone while bluetooth connected.

this is my seconds phone, thinking I need to return and wait a couple months :-(

I would like to get some input on a problem that may be related to the cleared call log problems, but may have a different cause. If my phone is off when a call is made to me, I am not notified of a missed call when my phone is turned back on. It seems to me that when Cingular becomes aware that my phone is back on the network, the missed call message would be sent. If my phone is on and I do not answer, I am notified of a missed call.

I am always for debate, but this person does not contribute anything meaningful to the discussion 🙄 .........

hey, i also have loosing call logs and copy sim to phone memory problems, these are the two i found so far in 10 days of use.

just curious, if cingular recalls the item, how the process works?

Is there any major difference between the 6680 and the 6681/6682 other than the secondary camera/UTMS support?

While I can't use the UTMS, and the secondary camera is more or less useless for me, I'm curious if the fact that the 6680 has been out a lot longer will mean it's probably more stable in terms of bugs and stuff.

After reading the forums here, I'm a bit worried about dropping a sizable amount of cash on a phone that still needs the firmware tweaked a lot. An unlocked 6680 is quite more expensive than a locked 6682 from cingular. But seeing as how I use my phone a lot, I'm more concerned with quality than price.

Help me out as I want to get a Nokia 6620 or 6682.

I have tried to find a deal for here in Puerto Rico but the Cingular 2 yr. plan is $300 for the 6682. I know now that letstalk.com has the plan for $99 but they tell me they cannot sell to anyone in Puerto Rico. For this reason I have been looking for a good used 6620.

Until I got to thinking... (which sometimes has gotten me into problems)
Does anyone know what issues might surround purchasing a phone and plan through my relative's address in the states, if possible, and then somehow transferring it to my current address here in Puerto Rico?
