Samsung SCH-A950

I just got this phone today.Before anyone asks or makes a comment ,I just want to say I have read the Manual.I could not find a answer in the manual so let me ask it here.I would like to know if there anyway to make the front screen show the time without opening the phone up for example by pressing one of the exterior buttons? Im asking because I cannot get my front screen to come on unless I open the phone .Is this right ? also would like to know if there is any way to change the audio device while in call when using a blutooth headset.for example switching from bluetooth to speaker phone or using the phone normally without shutting off the bluetooth .Any help would be appreciated . thanks Joe

So i gout a 950 from my buddy, how do i know if he has the version that has vcast music on it. Is there a software version i have to have. Also does it only work in vcast area or can you get the music store on your phone if in not vcast area.

whenever I try to move any music file or picture, it says "Cannot Copy, Disk is write protected. Remove the write-protection or use another disk". Now what am I supposed to do? 🤭

Does anyone have any idea how many MB our built into this phone ,cant find it anywhere.

Has anybody have a fix for this?
My wma player works fine when I have a signal. When I'm home and have no reception the song on the player breaks up. Same song but with reception and it sound great.
Does anybody know of a setting to change?
Any fixes or should I be going back to VZ?

So, I was able to find the driver that would let my PC "see" my phone when hooked up through the USB cable.

Now, how do I actually move stuff? I can't get BitPim to detect the phone. 😢

Anyone try this headset? I am currently using the Motorola H500 with my phone, but I just came across this and ordered it since I am a very anal person and like everything to match, I figured, why not have a Samsung headset w/ my Samsung phone? Anyway....just wondered if anyone has tried it and what they thought? When I recieve it I'll let everyone know how I like it if your interested.

i currently own the 950 adn the 9800 i was wondering if there was a setting on the 950 that would allow me to use mp3 like there is in the programming on the 9800? thanks ted

it didn't come with a CD that has the drivers on it. Anybody know where I can get the drivers? The USB I bought is the PCB113VBEB/STD.

When the keyguard is activated, will it also disable the sidekeys? My old 670 would take pics when it was in my pocket. Thanks!

Does anyone know can you get ringtones doing the vzwpix on this phone or did they disable it.

I have tried to send an MP3 file to the phone via of attchment and sending it to [email protected]. Whenever I do that, it always says that the file is too big. How do I fix this?

Are there lights that flash different colors when calls are being received like the LG 8100? I prefer not having those lights at all. Can you disable them? I am returning my RAZR and am debating on the a950 or the 9800.

I just got the software flash for the Music on Demand (vcast music) software and purchased the Music Essentials Kit. I'm trying to re-format my card, because something is using up 200 mb of memory and I can't figure out what it is, but the option to format it (settings and tools, manage memory, card memory, options, reformat card) isn't where it used to be. Anybody know how to format card with the new software version?

Hi, I recently got this phone and was told I could send myself mid ringtones via pix message. So I tried sending my old ringtones(saved on my comp) the ones off of walmart, and they dont play on the phone. I get the pix message and it doesnt play and when I save the sound it says File "songname.mid" already exists, Rename? Now if i click yes and rename it, it says the same thing again, and if I press no then it takes me back to pix message menu. When I look in sounds, there is no ringtone there. Someone please help, I need to put some ringtones untill I get the SD card. Thanks in Advance.

Is anyone else getting really bad dropouts at the beginning and end of the other caller's words? ...it sounds like voice-activated recording, or a bad conference call phone. I just got the phone a few days ago, and love it, other than this very serious problem. i am finding it unbearable, yet i'm seeing almost unanimously positive reviews of this phone's reception.

did i get a bad one?

does it have to do with the 'in-tenna'? i've tried holding it differently (not covering the top too much), and didn't find much difference...

I just bought the Samsung 950. I have the VCast service and I have already downloaded a few songs to the phone's memory. But the jog wheel button does not seem to do anything?

I have not installed the music essentials package. If I press the play button on the outside of the phone, I just get an option to "Play All". It seems as though the jog wheel button does nothing. In what mode, format or screen do I need to be in to use the jog wheel?

Any ideas?
