New User, just got my phone today...couple of questions!

😎

1) I have successfully setup the 6700 to download email. But I've got approx. 2,700 emails on said mail server. I only want to download emails that are new. Is there an easy way to do this?

2) Is there anyway to change the name entry for the email account. I accidentally typed the mail server there by accident.

Thanks!

So far it's pretty nice, feels more solid than I thought it would. They should have included a 2 cent screen protector though. Now i have to find the old sheets I had for the Palm.

6700 VZW VoiceMail Speed Dial

Is anyone successfully able to edit thier speed dial #1(voicemail) to drop in the soft pauses w/ the password. For some reason I cannot get the soft pauses and pound to register. Now I successfully added Speed Dial #2 to drop in my password *86,,,#12345#
I know that the comma's represent a pause. But I need to know if its possible to drop that in for speed dial 1. Is is possible to mess w/ my speed dials through active sync? I just need that "lazy man's" feauture?

Power and light?

Two probably dumb questions...
Can you turn this phone off?
Mine always has the green LED blinking. Is there a way to turn it off completely?

The backlight seems to stop working after about 1/2 days use. The phone and its features all work, I just can't get the baclight to turn on. Any idea's what's going on with it?

Thanks... I love this phone! 😉

A couple of questions : PDF - ESC, LogMeIn

Hey guys,

I have a few question that I'm hoping to get some help on. My XV6700 has been great so far, although I have a couple of things that I would still want to work if possible:

1- does anyone know of any freeward that is less memory intensive than Adobe Acrobat for PPC? (this one takes some 7Mb!! insane!!...)Yes, I'm aware that I can put it on the MiniSD, but even with that, 7mb is a lot if there is alternative.)

2- I have the PocketPuTTY on there, and connect to Linux boxes through that, and I was wondering if the XV6700 has an ESC key (crucial when using VI) ...

3- I don't know if anyone hear of LogMeIn service, but it's basically a remote administration software, which works perfectly on my PC, and also potentially work...

is the Verizon XV-6700 any good?

I'm currently a Blackberry user but want to switch over the Mobile 5. I've been waiting around for the Motorola Q for months but I'm getting tired of waiting...

How's the 6700 w/ Verizon? I hear that its a good PDA but a not so good phone...

I currently have about 300 contacts in my phone, the Blackberry does a great job of helping me pull up phone numbers quickly - I just have to type the first couple of letters of my contact's name. Does the 6700 make is as easy or is it a hassle to pop open the keyboard and search for the desired contact? Also, is the touch screen keypad usable?

Thanks in advance for your input

FREEZE!

Okay, so I'm LOVING this phone so far. One thing that's kinda bugging me is how much it's been freezng up lately... I mean, I had to 'soft reset' the damn thing like 3 times today. I'm not doing anything weird or strange either. Most of the time it seems to freeze when I try to close the net and take it back to the 'Today' screen. Anyone have any ideas??

ERROR 37/Answering Modem DIsconnect

👿 👿

I purchased a XV6700 from verizon wireless not too long ago and it always give me an Error 37 message. Once that message appears ANOTHER dialogue box shows up that says The Answering modem has disconnected and from that point on I can no longer connect to the internet. I've had my device switched out and it still does the same thing. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Backlight comes on overnight charging, any ideas?

I charge my 6700 next to my bed at night, often I will wake up because it comes on (in a pitch black room it's very bright). Any ideas why it would be coming on at night? What happens that triggers the backlight to come on while the unit is sitting there idle charging and how can I stop it from doing that?

Thanks!

PHM Registry Editor v0.70??

Okay, so is 'PHM Registry Editor v0.70' the latest version of this program? I've googled it a few times, but this is pretty much all that comes up most of the time. Also, do I download this straight to my phone, or on my pc first? Sorry again for the stupid questions, but we all have to start somewhere, right??

The VERY FIRST thing I need to do is.....?

Okay, so it's just about 3 more days until I have the PPC-6700 in-hand. I'm wondering what the first thing I need to do is. I'm guessing it would be smart to download the 'PHM Registry Editor' first? I just ask because I see this getting thrown around by people who say certain actions with this phone will delete all downloaded programs. (Not reffering to a hard-reset) So what is the VERY FIRST thing I need to do/download...? Sorry for asking yet, another amazingly stupid question... Like I said before, this will be my very first SmartPhone, and I've never used anything that has a Card or can be Synced to my pc...
