Motorola Q

I see that the enV LG VX9900 was announced, and is on the Verizon web site. Does this phone use the same windows mobile OS as the Q? I kind of like the big keyboard on the enV, but I also want to be able to load and run 3rd party apps, such as a good calendar/pda app.



Any opinions on this phone, vs the Q?

Yes, I'm aware this issue has been raised on SEVERAL occasions in the past few weeks. HOWEVER, there has yet to be any legitimate conclusions.

Has anyone, with a new Q in hand, tried using a Mini WiFi SD card to access a WiFi network using their Q yet? Motorola and Verizon offer conflicting information. Any END USERS who can confirm/deny this?

I understand how fast/wonderful/amazing Ev-Do is. My main desire for WiFi is to be able to use Skype (for Window's Mobile 5.0) to make international calls (which I do often for work). Also, it would be nice to have internet connectivity in smaller markets when Ev-Do is spotty.

I currenty own the VX9800 and I am due for my new phone. I am interested in the Black Motorola Q. The person at Verizon told me you have to take on an extra $45 per month if you get a PDA or BlackBerry. That seems crazy to me because I just want the Q for texting and for the good speakerphone not to go on the internet. Does anybody know if owning a BlackBerry or PDA really increases your monthly bill $45 even if you never use online capabilities?

There are times when I try to get the call history log and I am unable to. I push the button to retrieve it and nothing happens. I then re-boot the phone and I then get it no problem. Is this a defect or just an occasional bug? Has anyone else had this issue?

I would like to get a phone on which I can keep all my contacts (numbers and addresses) and that has a good, easily accessible calender. I'm really not interested in texting or getting my emails (although it would be nice - I just don't want to pay the extra costs). Is the Q too much for what I need?

I have had the Motorola Q for about two months now and really like it. The problem is that I do not use all of its features enough to continue paying for the extra stuff. I would like to go back to a regular cell phone, namely, the LG. I would like to talk to someone interested in a straight up trade, LG VX-8300 for a Motorola Q. My Q is in perfect condition. There is nothing wrong with it, I just do not use it enough to keep it. We can each cover our own shipping. The only thing I ask is that if you are interested, we discuss it offline. Just an FYI for those who are waiting for the black version... not sure what may be different besides color. As soon as I find out more, I'll fill you guys in.

Is there a way to create a keyboard shortcut for the underscore '_' instead of going through ALT + Shift?

The reason is that I need to use that character to log into a few websites but as soon as select it (after hitting ALT+SHFT), the IE browser thinks I mean GO and tries to take me forward in the process...and I get stuck with an error message.

I even tried Opera but it does not support the authentication on those websites.

Hey all. I am somewhat new to VZN. I've been a customer about 6 months. I really want to get the black Q however like everyone I don't want to pay full price. I don't even mind paying the $199. but I cannot renew my contract as I am 18 months away and it is through the company I work with.

Any suggestions on how to go about getting the black Q for the $199.?

For the last 10 days I have not been able to access my Yahoo email account. After the log in, the screen goes blank. Anyone else have the same issue and correct it?

I can't seem to get my Gmail account to sync properly with the Q. After account set up the Q will send/recieve but only grabs very old messages from last year. This is if I choose "Enable POP for all mail" in Gmail settings. If I choose enable "Enable POP only for mail that arrives from now on" it will download only the most recent message. Then as soon as there is a newer message, the older one disappears, before I have even read it. Is anyone else having these issues. Has anyone got it to sync perfectly with Gmail. I just want my newest 30 or so messages to sync. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
