We're taking actions to manage network roaming
05/16/2008
Sprint is addressing network roaming usage to better manage expenses, promote continued broadband availability, and ensure the best possible experience for the vast majority of customers. Our company's actions are designed to curtail heavy roaming and data use by a small segment -- less than 1 percent -- of customers who drive a disproportionate share of the Sprint's expenses.
New connection plans for mobile broadband cards, USB modems and embedded modems, as well as phone-as-modem plans, will place limitations on off-network data roa...

Did you feel like someone left a cake out in the rain at Overland Park yesterday after Sprint Nextel Corp. (NYSE: S - message board)'s fairly dismal first-quarter results? Well, buck up, Sparky, because Unstrung's got 10 -- count 'em -- 10 reasons for you to learn to love America's third-ranked cellular operator once again.
1. Clearwire and 4G
Yeah, we went for the obvious one first, but hey, barring any major screw-ups, the Sprint-backed Clearwire LLC (Nasdaq: CLWR - message board) venture will be the first to offer 4G-like services in the U.S. Both companies have said they'll have initial markets up and running in ...

The Real Deal With The Simply Everything Plan???
I'm sure none of you want to read this but....
My favorite quote from the article:
Standard & Poor's lowered Sprint's debt rating to junk on May 1, saying the company could come close to violating its lenders' terms. Under its credit agreements, Sprint must keep its debt at 3.5 times earnings, excluding interest, tax, depreciation and amortization, over its most recent four quarters. The ratio was at 2.9 times earnings at the end of last quarter, up from 2.5 at the end of 2007.
Credit rating is JUNK!
You guys keep arguing that the losses aren't more than expected, but that doesn't seem to translate into good news.
How am I receiving text messages that appear to be from my home phone?
I know that I can send a numeric page to my cell from my home phone but this is different because when I do that the text message says "HOME" in the "from" field because I have my home phone number saved in my contacts. These "mysterious" text messages just have 00+the actual phone number in the "from" field. Weird and creepy. 👀

Dan Hesse Speaks to Share Holders
www.buzzaboutwireless.com
"Dan Hesse, chief executive officer at Sprint Nextel Corp. for less than five months, faced tough questions Tuesday about the company's continued trouble keeping wireless subscribers.
Overland Park, Kan.-based Sprint, the nation's third-largest wireless provider, lost about a million customers in 2007 and reported Monday that it lost 1.07 million more in the first quarter of 2008 alone.
"Over the last year, AT&T and Verizon have really been eating our lunch, particularly in terms of high-value customers," investor Carlos Roberts of McLean, Va., told Hesse at the company's annual shareholder meeting...
