If I was a Sprint Dealer...

Greetings my black and yellow friends...

If I was a Sprint dealer, how would these store closing effect me? Is Sprint closing some of its corporate owned locations and/or are they also weeding out some of the non-performing indirect dealers? Just curious.

I wish the best for you guys. In tough times, layoffs are no good.

Quit the p!ssing and moaning, there is a lot to be happy about in 08

1) WiMax: I worked for Clearwire for 2 years beefing the company up before it went public and I can assure you in my decade working in wireless solutions that WiMax is something to be excited about.

2) New Phones: The Instinct, Android Phones, We are getting another LG Texter and a Rumor2, New Palm devices, WiMo 6.1, the updated Manila interface by HTC featured on the Diamond and Raphael, Qchat phones out the a$$, and a Samsung Texter all before the end of 08. Do you see any other carriers getting that aggressive with their handset lineup for 08 in the US? No you don't, you see a bunch of people recycling the same bullsh!t and shoving it down their customers throats. If the instinct is going to be a flop then why is Apple a...

Gotcha. Those are all good points and I appreciate you guys making them with a civil tongue. That's a rarity in these forums. I hope for your sake's that Sprint gets it together. I personally hate to see any company, especially those who provide healthy competition, fall.

The Future of Sprint

Been on vacation this week in Myrtle Beach, and missing out on all the excitement. My 2 cents are as follows:

It looks as though Sprint is on the verge of being bought out, probably by DT. It also appears that the iDEN network is up for sale as well.

All of us here knew two things: first, Sprint was either going to do or die this last time around, so it appears that it will be the latter. The good news is that the largest cellular company in the world wants to buy Sprint. So much for the "Sprint sucks" crowd. DT isn't a charity, so they must see some great value in such an acquisition, otherwise they wouldn't even consider bellying up the $$$ it will take to do this.

Second, we ALL knew that it was a matter of time before iDEN went ...

Question regarding the Simply Everything plans

I work for a company that gets a corporate discount with Sprint. Is the Simply Everything Plan eligible for any corporate discounts?

Thanks in advance.

DT's negatives and benefits of a potential buyout of Sprint.

Well DT or any other company for that matter. Even Alltel and its private equity owners could perhaps pursue Sprint. Comcast, Google, DT, Kddi, and others are all in the running for this company, but DT is more suitable because of their great T-mobile USA operations that continue to do well without a true 3G network.

There seems to be more negatives that outweigh the benefits though.

Positives;
1. Increase the spectrum position
2. Increase the subscriber base
3. Enter the enterprise market
4. Can reach synergies

Negs;
1. Market share loss and brand loss.
2. Nextel network and re-branding.
3. Regulatory risk
4. Integrating the CDMA network.
5. Financial issues.

Sprint Commish (sorry its long)

Is everybody really ok with how us retail sales people are paid? Why do I have to track and retrack and appeal and reappeal everything all the time? Why cant they just pay what they owe? How do they know EXACTLY how many deaccts we have and cant keep track of our acts at all? Now i just found out that if broke azz RMS goes down and you call NSS and put someone on a SE plan you start out NOT getting credit for it you HAVE to appeal it if you want your money. What!!!!!!!!! Crazy. Its addition by subtraction. Did anyone happen to look at the commish portal on Wed? I did I do everyday, when I looked Fri it was 600 less then it was Wed. I called and asked and of course the answer was we dont know. How can they take back money when they dont even ...

Why All Businesses Should Switch From Sprint To Another Carrier

#1. Because it's much more personal to call 100 people, one at a time, than instantly.

#2. Because paying the extra $$$ for their "everything" plans is worth it since money and meeting a budget is never an issue.

#3. Because money is no object: who cares if at least a dozen phones a month break because they get dropped? Cool phones are always better!

#4. Because being the only provider with service in areas with no cell towers or when the phone lines are all down isn't important.

#5. Because they all have plenty of time to make 100+ cellphone calls a day just to have a four second conversation.

#6. Because in a world where it's all about speed and getting things done, going to something slower and more reliable is a better ...

Help choosing a new smartphone

I'm getting ready to move across America and leave my current position at a competing wireless carrier. I have been a service tech for nearly 4 years now, previously at Sprint and now at another company. I have been offered a SERO account through a friend and I am interested as to what your thoughts are on a few models.

I am currently looking at the:

Motorola Q9m
Palm Centro
Samsung Ace
Blackberry Pearl
Blackberry Curve

What are your thoughts and why? Keep in mind that I'm also trying to weigh the value of going to a Blackberry knowing that I have to pay an additional premium each month simply to use the phone.

Thanks for any help!

Sprint's Data dosn't look so bad compared to Verizon

Sprint's Wireless Data Network Trumps Verizon's

Jonathan Blum

05/07/08 - 12:03 PM EDT

When it comes to cellular data access for the small business, it's the network ... that may not be working so well.

Of all the techno indignities small businesses must endure, shopping for mobile phone and data service is about the worst.

Yes, buying computers and building Web sites is frustrating, expensive and mind-bogglingly hard to extract value from, but at least you sort of get something for your money. The computers work. The Web site functions. But cell phone and data service?

That remains the ultimate small business bait-and-switch.

Cell operators like Verizon, Sprint, AT&T and T-Mobile all love to...

SPRINT SUCKS!!!

GOT YA!!! I LOVE SPRINT!

Everyone else is just kicking them while they're down right now. But once they get up. Every other company better not start crying after Sprint start throwing the punches.

And it looks like its going to be before the year end.

Check out the Instinct vs. Iphone videos

Kinda funny I think they would make better sprint commercials than we've seen in a while.

P.S. I know that there could be videos the other way, people are going to say it's a clone etc....
