Verizon Wireless snaps up West Virginian GSM carrier
The spectrum licenses that make up part of West Virginia Wireless’ assets cover 1.2 million people in 22 West Virginia counties, five counties in Kentucky, three in Virginia and two in Ohio. That area includes two interstate corridors as well as the Greenbriar resort in White Sulpher Springs and Marshall University in Huntington, W.V.
Verizon Wireless will serve its new customers under the West Virginia Wireless name for the time being. The national carrier said that it had offered employment to all West Virginia Wireles...

Bolting VZ 5 months before 2yr contarct ends?
Unfortunately due to job requirements I have to change one line to Cingular. This line has 5 months before my 2 year contract expires.
1. Will I still have to pay the whole $175 fine or it can be prorated? If not, is there way to somehow talk VZW out of this (I'm still retaining another line, I was loyal, etc.)?
2. I will have to port the number to Cingular. What will happen with second line which's on a same Family plan for $9.99/mo. Will it "assume" full ownership of the plan or I have to do something else?
I'll appreciate any help. Thanks!

Warrant Issued for Verizon's Arrest
The refund is the long-awaited conclusion to the saga that began when Verizon double-billed Poodleman, ruined his credit, lied about not receiving his letters, and refused to fix their mistake. So he sued Verizon in small claims court, and won.
When Verizon didn't show for the follow up payment review, the court issued a capias, or bench warrant, authorizing Verizon's arrest.
Perhaps it was better for everyone involved that Verizon paid Poodleman, as it might have been a bit difficult for the sheriff to arrest an entire company.
Full scan of warrant for Verizon's arrest, inside...

Hey Army!
One more question for you (or anybody else for that matter), I know that I should know this but by thethering it does it just use your minutes (nights and weekends free?)
Obviously blatent excessive use of this would cause trouble so I will avoid it.
National Access
Now fastfoward to today. What phones are capable of doing this? I know with the EVDO phones you must subscribe to a tether plan. What about the V325? The kit advertises that it will connect to the National Access network. Will it do this old school, using just the airtime?
Thanks in advance!
