2 years are up...time for a new phone

I am eligible for my $100 towards a new phone plus any mail-in rebates if I extend my service. Thus, I can pretty much have my choice of current phones for free, but I don't want to get the LG6000 just to have a newer camera phone come out weeks after I get the old version.

Do you guys have any suggestions on how long I should wait (my current phone sucks and I really want a new one)? Also, from recent history do newly released phones come with significant mail-in rebates?

Thanks for your help and I've enjoyed reading the discussion going on.

"Converting" a J2ME phone to Verizon use?

I remember vaguely some threads about using phones put out by other carriers. I'd really like to combine the usefulness of J2ME with the good coverage I have in my area...

I'm looking specifically at a CDM-9900 or 9950 / Toshiba Vm4050... anyone have experience converting those models or makes, or with putting j2me phones to use on verizon?

Most importantly, even if you can unlock/OTA the phone, will the j2me and downloading features even work?

Thanks

New Every two Year Plan (VERIZON)

Whats up guys

I've finally got my 2 years up on my phone and now I can get a new phone up to 100 bux. YAY! This V60 Motorola survived long enough for me. I'm wondering if its better for me to wait a few months till this phone dies or go out and buy one of those nice flashy camera phones with all the color and games. I want something nice but I don't want to buy a phone and then see a real cool one a month from now. Any ideas if anything is coming out? I know I want something with a camera. I just wonder if something will come out thats more jammed back with options then the ones that are currently out. When do new phones usually come out? Anyone have their opinion on this issue. Any new technology in cell phones coming in the next few mon...

About Mobile Web content...

Does anyone know where a list of the Mobile Web content providers can be found? I am interested in "surfing" their sites.

Plan changes to end of contract.

I have 7 months till my contract ends. I currently have 400min Family share plan 2 lines M2M 1000. My family and I are starting a day care business that would require us to take pictures to capture special moments to send to the parents. It looks like I'll be switching carriers due to cost savings long term. Is there a plan that I can drop the level of service but can still honor my contract?

Samsung a530s price?

Hey, I was just curious what any of you direct or indirect people are charging for this handset? The Verizon website just keeps nosediving the price, and I'm not sure why... its a really great handset. I'm now selling it for $99 with the $30 rebate, but I'm really not willing to go any lower than that. Any feedback?

Moto V60i/V60s/V60p

Can someone give me a quick rundown of the differences?

V60s-speakerphone
V60p-push to talk

Are they the same size? Or is the V60p slightly thicker?

Motorola MPx200

Does anyone know if Verizon is planning on carrying this phone? I have talked to customer service and a Verizon store, nobody seems to be able to give me a straight answer. Thanks to anyone that can answer this.

Upcoming Phones update

LG (all phones with vx)

vx 3200 (within weeks) (NO ONE CARES)

vx 4600 (any day now)
The new to release (*eventually*) LG VX 4600 replaces the VX 4400
4400 vs 4600
20% less weight
slightly smaller
slightly longer battery life (20% longer)
500 contacts vs. 200 in the 4400
picture messaging, as opposed to an email client support of the 4400
*Analog is only available on some phones whereas the 4400 were all tri mode

4400 vs 4500
the 4500 is available (this is key )
4500 is not available in analog. dual mode only
the 4500 has a speakerphone

that's basically all i have for you in differences between the two. and they look different. not sure why this phone (the 4600) is being released besides that it looks a little burlier....

Audiovox CDM 9900

I talked to a Verizon rep today, and he told me that the next new Verizon phone was going to be the CDM-9900. ((He said that it should be released by the end of this month))
Has anyone heard this??? Does anyone have any opinions about this phone???

Don't trust a VZW rep...

when they tell you that a phone is going to be released any further than two weeks ahead... they're flat out lying or playing he said, she said. VZW reps don't know any sooner than two weeks of a release. Trust me. In other words, stop asking dumb ass questions about when a phone is going to be released because no one knows for sure and if they do, they'll post it.

Verizon not #1 anymore. Or Are they?

Well everyone has heard about Cingular and Att Ws merging to become the biggest cellular company in the US. But I want to clear up a few things. People may be informed. Cingular may have more customer than Verizon, but will their coverage area be bigger? Humm.. My answer is NO!!!!!!!!! Even though Cingular will be bigger than Verizon Wireless (customer wise and maybe revenue wise), Verizon Wireless will still hold there reputation of having the largest coverage area in America. True Cingular Wireless may have a bigger coverage area, but it just wont be big enough to to take Verizon's reputation. When people say largest, they mean in customers and revenues not coverage area. So all of you who want a company that will work in most places you w...

best time to sign a new contract?

i'm switching to verizon this week. but i heard there may be new promotions in may. does anyone know if there is a certain time of year or month, etc that is better to sign up for a new contract? i could wait till may if there's a good chance of getting a better deal on a plan or cheaper prices on a phone. but if it's likely just a rumor, i'd like to switch sooner than later. thx.

LG vx 4500 vs samsung a530s

I'm leaning towards the samsung a530s even though i'm scared of both not having analog. I like the battery life of the lg better and have always been an LG phone guy, but i'm thinking of trying the samsung based on great reviews here. anyone have some insight? thanks!

AUDIOVOX CDM8900 vs. LGVX6000

😳 Any opinions would be helpful... I like the 8900 but it just isnt loud enough. My g/f has the LG and hers is blasting I love it.. ring wise... but LG has no speakerphone I heard. I like the camera on both but the 8900 has a much crisp and clearer screen. I know the 8900 has 128 Flash memory which I dont know what the LG6000 has. Which phone has more memory for storing ringtones and pictures. I hear the 8900 has better reception... but then i hear the LG has better.. but more dropped calls. Just wondering if anyone can list some really really good things about each phone... and some really really really bad things about each phone.. its important.. i only have 10 days left to return the AUdiovox 8900. thanks
