If I move over to AT&T, can my partner line go under its own contract, or do I have to have a family plan like I have with Cell One???

Is their any particular cell phone or smart phone that works best for this?

I work for an authorized dealer. We used to be Cell One, but we are now AT&T as of December 9th. I have been made aware of a horrible flaw in the migration. Cell One stores are not able to access closed accounts. Period. End of story. There is no magic override. If the account is closed, we cannot view anything or take payments. When a Cell One customer migrates to AT&T, their Cell One account closes and a new AT&T account is opened. When they get their final Cell One bill and come in to pay it, they can't. We cannot access closed accounts. The customer must do the payment over the phone with customer care or go old school and send it through the mail. I have had numerous customers get PO'd when I tell them this. It got to the point that the...

Because I don't use NEAR that much and I am accruing a large amount of Rollover minutes. I called in this week and they told me they do not offer any smaller plans than the 39.99. Sigh. I'll just have to finish out the contract and go back to prepaid. 😢

Ok guys i have one more question.
In buying the CURVE do i have to purchase media plans for each feature such as push-to-talk;GPS;Please let me know if so then im buying the v9.

Is the Curve firmware upgradable? Is it forever stuck with EDGE or could a future firmware upgrade allow it to use 3G? I was in a retail store(Middletown, NY) yesterday and surfed with a Blackjack (3G) and a Curve 8310(EDGE)and didn't really notice much of a difference (possible that this geo area can't get 3G and reverted to EDGE?) Does anyone know the scoop about 3G in the Orange County area of New York?

A friend of mine has the N75 and seems to like it. I have heard good things about the 6126 and mix reviews about the battery life of the 6555. Looking to start with at&t with a GoPhone then getting post paid service with some type of BB (not sure what type yet). Thanks

Hey guys. I'm just hoping someone can help me out. My wife has been using a regular RAZR for about two years now. She's reached her upgrade period and I'm struggling to come up with a good replacement for her phone. I am kinda over thinking it. What I want in a phone and what she wants in a phone are two different things.

I would ask her, but she's not into phones and I kinda want this to be a surprise. So I'm hoping you guys can help me come up with a good option or two.

The things she likes/needs are:
Flip/Clamshell form factor
Speaker Phone
Easy/Intuitive UI
Obviously call quality

Data access is really not a concern for her and she minimally texts. Any quality handsets you guys could recommend would be appreciated.

I really don't understand the mindset of people. If I went into a bank and asked to look into someone else's account other than mine, they would have security escort me out of the place! Why is it my fault you spent an our and a half online gettin phone and service and then when you get your epuipment or first bill you are suprised its ****ed up? ITS NOT MY FAULT! People should come into the store and get service and equipment. If yuo are dumb enough to get it online, have fun dealing with thier return policies. I will not help you anymore!

Is there any back door for getting the EN&W less than $8.99 per line? I can tell you that this is a feature that our family would use and would keep on our lines forever.

Anybody out there got an inside track or better way to get this added to my family plan?

Whats going on, recently purchased the new nokia n81 unlocked phoned. I don't have any ATT internet data plan, but the phone does have wifi on it. A few weeks ago ATT told me that if I use the wi-fi on any of their phones without a data plan, I would get charged per KB downloaded.

Is this true? I don't see how they could charge me for using my own internet source, but maybe I'm wrong.

So basically, If i use my wifi without a data plan, are they going to charge me?

i wanna know if you have any ideas of an alternate option or source to get an unlocked sidekick...specifically an id...i want it on att and yes im aware i wont get data but i just need something that isnt mob 6 or a blackberry with a full qwerty(i love typing that lol) that will work on att and i dont care about data

Because I was in an AT&T store and played with the Motorola Q Global phone and wowee that is such a cool device! If only I had 500 dollars for that phone! :-(
