Bandwidths..

If I purchase a 900/1800/1900 bandwidth unlocked phone, what areas will it not work (i.e. where is the majority of the 850?)..

If the majority of the network is 850, I would like to know so that I do not purchase this phone..

Thanks..

bias forums

The one thing that's wrong with these forums is company loyalty! People who complain about cingular most likely have verizon and vice versa. 1 bad bill or 1 bad cust. servuce call doesn't rule out an entire company.

I heard that Cingular will be releasing an unlimited anytime minutes plan similar to the ATTWS Charter Plan.

Has anyone hear this also? Any time frame?

Thanks

UPDATE--Phones for Cinglar's PTT

Ok, I know now about a Samsung, and the LG phone. I was at a retail store yesterday, the rep confiremed the Samsung, the LG. In addition she stated that there will be a Motorola phone w/ PTT and a Sony Ericcson w/ PTT. I also saw on a post on here of a Sony Ericcson that will be eventually released for PTT. Any truth/fact about a Motorola(my first guess was the SLVR L7), or the Sony Ericcson to be released to work on Cingular New Ptt network.

Using Cingular phone in Mexico

I know Cingular lists their international rates, and there's some rate for Mexico, but I was wondering about near the border. If you're in Tijuana, is it possible to be in range of US towers still? The touristy areas of the city are probably within a couple of miles of the border, but how far does the range of towers extend? or will the phone use the strongest signal nearby (most likely a tower in Mexico)?

How to become an agent for Cingular?

There have been absolutely no GSM towers in my region, up until recently, we've seen some Cingular trucks on the mountainside beginning construction on a tower, and I'm sure more will be on the way. That said, the nearest Corporate Store is an hour away from the area, and further for some places. I know that Cingular has some unique phones and plans that could probably give the only competition around here (Verizon, Eloqui Wireless) which is CDMA based, a run for their money.

I've been searching for days, but cannot seem to find documentation anywhere to become an agent for Cingular Wireless, like I can for the other two companies.

That said, if you're an agent for Cingular, if you could let me know what challenges I'm going to get to ...

Many should have BOTH Cingular and Verizon Service Plans, Here's why...

I have to repost this in it's own thread because there seems to be a constant fight between both users and employees. I have both and here is why you might consider that as well.

There is a great economic reason to get two phones along with MANY other reasons.

1. Instead of paying one carrier $100 and suffering with only their feature set and coverage You can pay 2 $50 each and have the BENIFIT of BOTH carriers and feature sets! No brainier there. Or split $200 etc.

2. You now have 2 numbers like most people have anyway, Except both are with you all the time.

3. Where one phone does not work usually ALWAYS the other will. Better coverage for the SAME outlay.

4. Redundancy. If you lose one phone you can foward the number to t...

Issues with cingular

So my first issue had to do with issues calling certain phones in an area code. I have a 425 area code number (Eastside of Seattle), but I live down in San Diego, 619 area code. I have several friends who have 206 area code phone numbers, that are still using their ATT plans (haven't migrated over to Cingular). When I try to call them while I'm down in San Diego, all I get is a busy signal, no voice mail, no rings, etc. I'm not sure if there's an issue with other ATT numbers and other areas, but I had this result with 3 friends number's that I tried. when I was over in Phoenix, AZ, I could call the 206 numbers perfectly fine though, so my guess is there's an issue with some San Diego towers. Has anyone else run into an issue like that,...

Why does Cingular intimidate you so much?!

There must be quite a few reasons otherwise why would all you outsiders spend so much time here trying to prove things you can't?! A little intimidating to go against Cingular all the time isn't it?! 😉 🙂

If you would spend half your energy you waste here on things within your carrier trying to improve them, maybe you would win more customers the honest way. Very sad.
