So, to confirm: there will still be an unlimited Media Works package, however it will be $25.

Is this correct?

With a SIM card, I can buy a cheap phone now and switch later?

I want to take advantage of current MEdia Works unlimited pricing.

But the phones I really want don't seem to be coming out for a few weeks.

Can I buy a cheap/free phone this week, and then buy an unlocked phone later when the s710a, etc. come out?

For that matter (and I really don't want to go to the trouble), I guess I could return the cheap phone during the return period and get the s710a then, assuming it actually comes out on the 17th?

I'd rather find another way to do it, to not inconvenience a dealer.

Opinions on phones

I'm an Indirect Dealer. Not one of the bad ones. We actually care about the customer and we have a very low churn. I was wondering what everyone elses opinions were on phones to carry. To me there just isnt alot of good phones to carry. The "average customer" doesnt want to pay a bunch for a real nice phone.

We usually carry the:

Nokia 6010, 3120, 6230
Moto V180, V220, V551
Samsung 427. 317
SE Z500a

Are we missin any phones that are really good? I think LG's suck real bad. The 1300 is a total piece of junk. Just about every one that goes out the door comes back. is the 1400 any better?

So if I want unlimited EDGE Media Works, I should buy this week?

Is that my understanding, that right now I can get unlimited EDGE data usage on an EDGE phone via Media Works?

If I'm reading the posts correctly, next week's changes to data plans may eliminate that.

Am I right?

what is interesting is the media works plan is still avalable based on what market u type on on cingulars website...pure bs. sanfran gets it but ohio doesnt?. why should i be stuck paying 50 bucks for ultd dats when other markets get it for 20 plus a crap load of text and multi media messages. mmmmmmm catherine zeta jones looks better everyday

Dropping features online?

I had a few features on my calling plan I need to drop due to new features that make the others obsolete. Is there any way to drop them from the Cingular website or do I have to call CS?

CINGULAR DOESN'T PAY!!

Hey There..

Don't even bother opening up your paychecks today if you're a blue retail rep! We're getting checks for supposedly MULTIPLE months of commission for no more than a couple hundred dollars!

A co-worker of mine got a commission check of under $5.

We'll see how Cingular does when it starts losing its reps!

Buying phone for a girlfriend, need help, first time buying someone a phone!

Ok, i want to buy this phone for my girlfriend but i've never done this before. She owns a Motorola V500 and it's been giving her some problems lately. I came across the offer of 50$ for one of these and i have a CDM9900(verizon).

It seems like a nice phone, nice build, everything she needs and wants, BUT i know how complicated phones get nowadays and contracts. I'm 17 turning 18 in april. She's 18 and has her own contract(2yr) and i wanted to buy her this phone for Valentines day along with some other things.

Thing is, do i need a contract or sign one to buy her the phone? She said she could switch phones without changing her contract with cingular or renewing but i wasn't sure because verizon doesn't let their members do this. Can anyon...

MEdia Plans

Okay I need a little help on this because I am not sure what's the diffrence between MEdia net, MEdia basics, etc. Please someone explain to me what these are! I know they are internet access on the phones but what are the diffrences in these plans? I tried reading it on the website but I guess I am still not clear. Sorry if this is a dumb question but I am new to Cingular... 🤭

I saw the new plans today...

And I have to say that the Voice plans are still very competitive, but I don't like the new data plans.

Having media works with unlimited internet was very awesome.
All I can say is get the media works before febuary 11th and you can keep it.
