Cing reps....???

If something is in the notes, even though its not legitimate, are we supposed to go by what the previous rep promised?

Opus question

Has anyone worked with Opus yet I'm hoping it will be a cure all? I'm getting sick of PDC2. Is it going to merge the telegence and care markets?

Switch deal

I came home from work today to find my pre-approval notice from the office of the Vice President of Cingular, Jace Barbin. I guess he considers me a good risk. Probably because I am.

So here's my offer. If Cingular pays my ETF I'll agree to leave my one year contract with Vzw and sign a 2 year contract with them. I can remember not so long ago a csr telling me that MCI would pay the cost of switching my phone service to theirs, and would pay to switch it back if I wasn't satisfied.

I would much rather be contracted with a wireless provider that allows me to use my phone the way it was designed to be used, rather than with a provider that dumbs it's equipment down in order to squeeze a few more pennies out of me.

So what do you say C...

Still Two Different Systems (TDMA & GSM)??

My neighbor lives next to me on an AT&T plan and phone with excellent reception. Based on that, I went to sign up for new Cingular service but was told my neighbor was still on the old TDMA system and there was no coverage in my area with the new GSM system. So all AT&T and Cingular towers are not of the same system? I thought that's how they had the largest coverage area now. I assume all will eventually be changed to GSM? Any timing on this?

SSN

Can I subscribe to post-paid Cingular service without giving my SSN? I don't care how much I have to pay as a deposit. I don't want my SSN in yet another database if I can avoid it.

Media Works Package on Cingular

Man is it true that they are going to change the media works package and make it more expensive, if so can anybody tell me what the exact changes will be, how much it will cost, and when this change will happen and also why. cause i'm a little mad that cingular would do this, this is some reasons i left verizon because they where making bad decisions like this. Also i heard what i can do to avoid the change but i'm wondering, if my mom got it put onto her plan and when i get my phone can't i jus add a extra line to her plan? and till get the media works package

WooT!

Ok so its my second day on the phones for the Cingular side and no customers screaming at me, cussing at me, etc. I have noticed just in the past two days the patience and kindness they have. I like this already 🙂

UMTS/HSDPA

I heard rumors a while back that we were conspiring with NTT Docomo to develop a UMTS network that is compatible with their network, and vice versa. Does any one have confirmation of this? Does anyone know if we are also working with them for HSDPA? I've heard a couple rumors, but international video conferencing would be pretty cool. 😎

SIM card in Nokia 6010?

Hi,

I'm trying to upgrade my mom's phone to a bluetooth model. She currently has a Nokia 6010, and I'm trying to get her a Motorola v505. The ones I'm finding on Ebay do not come with a SIM card. She appears to have a 64k SIM card in her Nokia-- can I simply insert this into a Cingular v505 and have her service function?

Thanks,
Shane

Cingular Corporate stores

Any corporate retail employees here? I submitted a resume today and had a call back within an hour and a half and am basically wondering what Cingular has to offer for its employees. Any kind of information would be great.

SBC to buy AT&T for $16 Billion

Now let's see if the FCC approves it. My guess is that it probably will happen as they don't even begin to talk about deals like this unless they have a good feel of what the FCC thinks beforehand.

Cingular miscounting your minutes?

I just signed up with Cingular and I'm looking for other Cingular users to see if you can verify the following problem:

According to my phone, a call lasts, say, 35 seconds. This should be billed as a minute. However, online I'm showing 2 minutes. Another call is, say, 11 minutes and 40 seconds. This should be billed as 12 minutes, but instead is billed as 13. It kind of looks like calls where the seconds portion goes over 30 get not only rounded up, but an additional minute tacked on. Since I only have the 10 most recent calls listed on my phone, and new calls to the same number overwrite the old, I've only been able to verify this with a few calls so far.

I'm thinking this could be due to programmer error in Cingular's billing....

Cingular Upgrade Policy

Due to my constant irritation with incorrect information I receive when contacting customer service, I thought I would pose my question here.

What is Cingular's upgrade policy (timeframe, special pricing & or discounts, contract terms, fees associated, etc ...)? I use to be an RA and never had to pay for a handset, therefore am unfamiliar. I am hesitant to upgrade because it would require a change to the GSM network and I am not impressed with the coverage area at this time(I am currently on TDMA and out of contract for a little over 3 years).

Also, would like some clarification about the "no roaming fees". Is it true there are no roaming charges because Cingular customers in essence cannot roam (meaning if you aren't on the Cingular...

VCast Verizon's new broadband service

I have couple of questions, i know cingular doesn't have there 3g network up yet so for now they have edge to satify peoples thirst untill they do, but how fast is edge compared to Ev-Do. I'm still getting wit cingular and of course getting the s710a and i'm sure they will hopefully get the 3d games that verizon has but do's anybody know if cingular is coming out with a service sort of like v-cast cause right now i know they don't have a lot of 3d games if any and i would love to play kingdom hearts on the s710 seeing as how it has the most ingenuis way to play games. Either way what is your opinion when it comes to cingular and verizon's upcoming competition and the pro's and con's of both, any information would help me greatly.

Any advantage of migrating from AT@T to Cingular right now?

Right now i'm still on an AT@T Wireless plan and I'm getting the entire coverage area of Cingular right now, but i'm on the 74.99 plan with 1250 minutes and nights and weekends starting at 7:00 pm. If I switch to Cingular right now then i'm going to have to pay a little more for the same plan. The equivalent plan is $79.99 and the 7:00 pm nights and weekends is like $7.00 more I think, plus I'm not sure what additional fees there are.

So is there any advantage to migrating right now? Right now I've got a Motorola V505 and it works great and i'm very happy with my plan. At@t recently added 300 extra anytime minutes to my plan so things are pretty sweet. I'm inclined to stay, but what do you guys think?

Also, any idea when they are going...

Blue reps getting Cingular dependent lines.

Hey y'all.

Does anyone have any information as to when Blue reps will be able to take advantage of the free dependent lines?? As of now, we still have to get our phones from ATTWS's NEAS..they're blue phones still, so it doesn't really make sense to get a new phone with them.
