Free Phones????

Its nice to see on tmobile.com today that corporate is giving new activation customers great free phones such as the samsung x475, thats right I said x475, and Motorola v180+v330 phones, haven't seen those in a while. And the great nokia 3220 and samsung e635.

What are they thinking? Why would anyone agree to a 2 year contract to get a free phone thats been discontinued??

I guess they think giving away crap is a good start to a new business relationship with the customer.

I am just wondering how the rest of you feel about these tactics? I know that everyone uses them but for me the v180 was the last straw, I mean the v188 which replaced this model has now been discontinued as well.

Buy a phone in EU...use it in NA?

I'm going to switch to T-Mobile but I'll be traveling to England soon. Can I buy a phone there (like the RAZR V3i) and then bring it back to the U.S. and then sign up for T-Mobile?

I ask because I see on the T-Mobile UK site there are better phones than the ones you can get here in the U.S.

Thanks.

Covereage in Northern VA

Just wondering what the coverage is like in Northern VA these days.

My Verizon is expiring soon and I am looking to switch back to the much superior GSM technology. Looking for input, thank you!

V3i

I have just used the new T-Mobile V3i. It has expandable memory space underneath the back cover (Micro SD), MP3 player, and 1.3 Megapixel camera. It is also Navy blue...looks really nice I would never own a "piece of motorola."
Don't know when it will be launched but I was testing it out. 🙂

Nokia 6103 vs. Moto V195

I prioritize call quality over everything else, so I want the phone with the best call/voice quality. I've always been satisfied with Nokia phones, but the Moto V195 has such great battery life. I'm tempted to switch.

Any advice from those who have tried both?

Treo 700?

Does anyone know if T-Mobile will offer the Treo 700 (w or p) in the future. I know they had trouble with the Treo 600, but it seems strange that they would not carry the highest rated smartphone (at least by the WSJ) on the market eventually.

39.99 1000 anytime with unlimited nights and weekends.

This is a copy of an email from tmobile. I emailed to ask why the plan is only available in CA because i want it. This was their response from T-Mobile.

I understand from your e-mail that you would like to know why is it that there is a 39.99 1000 minute plan with unlimited nights and weekends available in San Fransisco CA, and not for me in New York?
I certainly appreciate the importance of your concern and I am happy to go over your account with you to see how I can help.

I have gone to our website and I do see the 1000 minute rate plan with unlimited nights and weekends for $39.99 but there is no stipulation as to where it is available. According to my research it is a promotional rate plan available nationwide. How do you know...

T-Mobile Phone Upgrade Choices: Motorola v.188 or Motorola RAZR v3

Honestly all, is the Motorola RAZR v3 really that much better than the Motorola v.188? I completely understand and am aware of the differences in features between these 2 models (i.e., Having bluetooth and camera in the RAZR vs. none of that in the v.188 but both have quad band) but in terms of the basic use for SMS/Photo Messaging, making/receiving phone calls, as well as the overall look and feel (phone's construction and feel, etc) is their really any difference? Opinions appreciated?

P.S. - I am looking to upgrade from Siemens CF62T phone so you can pretty much feel my pain their.

Purchasing an unlocked phone

First point of info- I am not a T-Mobile customer.

If I walked into a nearby T-Mo corporate store and was willing to pay full retail price, could i purchase an Motorola a630 unlocked?

If so, how much would that be?

If not, is there a way for a non-customer to get this phone unlocked direct from T-Mo (not Ebay or a third-party authorized dealer)?

Coming back

So i think i am coming back to tmobile from cingular.

However, i have a question.

First, how is the phone price affected between a 1 year and 2 year? And does Tmobile still do 1 year?

Second, if i sign up on the 1500 anytime minute promotional plan for 39.99, and in 6 months decide i need more minutes or night and weekend, can i transfer to a non promotional plan without extending my contract? Do they allow changing of plans without contract extentions?

Should I switch from Cingular ?

The main reason I might switch is just to get the Nokia 8801 which will be insured through T-Mobile.

I have been a Cingular customer for 3 years now, and have no complaints. I live in the DC area but spend most of my minutes at work in Gaitersburg, MD. How is the coverage in this area?

- Why should I switch? (Besides customer service)

- What are the benefits?

- Any other information I should know about?

Thanks for your help!

Getting a Good Deal on a Phone ??? - REPS, please chime in

How much negotiating power do you have when purchasing a Phone (8801) and BRAND NEW Rate plan?

I have been reading through this forum and Howard Forums and I saw that some current customers are able to negotiate the Nokia 8801 at the price of/or around $450.

I currently have a t-mo blackberry data plan, and would like to get a seperate voice plan (so I dont have to switch sims out)

I ONLY want a 1 YEAR contract, is there anything I can do to get a discount off the 8801 and stil sign up for a 1 year contract?

Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Holy cow it worked!

I have downloaded Opera Mini web browser on my phone and it has never worked. I have tried so many things, and it still will not work! I've even downloaded opera mini in every single demo phone in my store, and it would NEVER work!!!!

Then finally, on the stupid Motorola v195, it actually worked! What the heck!?!?!! How? How do I get it to work on other phones? Does anyone know?

With Opera Mini, you can browse way more website, even ones that are java enabled, just like a sda.
