Switch to TMobile in NYC?

I have verizon cell now and 8700g BB just for data. Really interested in switching to 8320 for both but a little concerned about call quality in Manhattan. I tried tmobile 2 yrs ago and found the call quality to be poor compared to Verizon. I hear the wifi option really helps with call quality. Would like to hear your experience so far.

Thanks!

New T-Mobile network with faster data

Does anyone have any info on when T-Mobile is upgrading their data services from EDGE? I would like to know because their current speeds are slow and I want to get a new phone with HSDPA or HSUPA or something. Anyone???

Best time of year? Monthly Fees?

2 questions...

1. What is the best time of year to buy a cell phone and plan (most likely through t-mobile with the t-mobile dash)?

2. For a 34.98/month plan, what will the price of taxes be each month? I live in Detroit if it helps at all.

All comments are more than welcome!

Should I switch to T-Mobile...?

I am currently with Verizon Wireless and have no real complaints about coverage, but the pricing, plans and customer service are another story. I checked the personal coverage map on T-Mobile and my area (central NJ) doesn't get much coverage (more specifically my street, not my entire neighborhood), but T-Mobile's plans are awesome. I would love the Sidekick so I can get the $20/month Sidekick "extras" plan (unlimited internet, email, IM and texting). Would it be worth it to break my VZW contract, pay the $175 and to go to T-Mobile?

Also, I know this has been the topic of many threads but I don't have the time to go through 171 pages of topics to find my answer to this question: what exactly is 3G and when T-Mobile puts this into effect...

phone as modem

as technology changes in the phones that we own, so do the need and capacity of our wireless network providers.

i am interested in using my unlimited data plan from t-mobile with my apple laptop via bluetooth as a modem.
which model(s) work with these specifications, and which one(s) have the best service/coverage.
i already own the 8700 blackberry on a different network, so I dont want a blackberry, but i was told by the reps over the phone that the nokia 2610 is the cheapest phone to do that job for me.
thanks.

3G HTC Kaiser

I won't ask the obvious question of when 3G will be up in L.A. but I would like to know if the HTC Kaiser is still coming to TMo per the manuals on the FCC site? Anyone......Bueller......anyone.......
And my other question, will we need a different TMo SIM card to use 3G data on the new phones?

3G

Does anyone know what bandwidth Tmobile is going to use? Which markets are going to be upgrade first? Are they going to get a roaming agreement with AT&T 3G towers?

To any Tmobile reps, i have questions

Ok my friend has been with Tmobile for 5+ years, has 5 lines, they always have overages, the bills are paid on time every month on month, never had the service disconnected, and has only upgraded once to regular cheapy phones within the 5 years. He called and asked on some sort of promotion price for the pearl and they told him it was $280.

My question is what would he have to do/say to get the pearl cheaper like in the 100's range?

Is there any promo he could use or any upgrade policy he qualifies to get it maybe for free?

Thanks!

T-Mobile Wing

I just found a link on Howard's Forum that enabled me to get a T-Mobile Wing for $49.95 (after rebate)with a one year contract, no activation fee, and free 2nd day air shipping. Even though the thread was a month old I called the T-mobile Business to business site gave them the promotional code. "windows mobile" and made the order at that price. Everything went as expected (no surprises). I was surprised.

I just checked their customer service site and my wing will arrive at my office tomorrow.

for verification sake the link is

i've played with a shadow!!!!

i personally work for att and use the tilt, y friend manages a t-mobile store and she received the HTC shadow monday, although this phone cant compete with the tilt in features the one thing that struck me about it that i like was the weight this phone is very light and it also uses i a jog dial for navigation like the new blackjack II will.

Question About T-mobile.

Hi.

I had an account with t-mobile about 3ish years ago. When I first turned 18. Kinda screwed it up, and I owe them $450.

I was gonna go back to them and get the Flex Month To Month, but I want the contract, and the customer discount on the phones in the futurer.

So my question is.....If i PAY t-mobile what I owe them, and they re-run my credit, I think I will qualify for the flex contracted? Is that right...or no? And then after a year, I wont be flex anymore?

Suggestions for cutting thru the bureaucracy appreciated here

T-Mobile has sent me three defective SDA's. I can't keep wrestling with these things, nor can I continue to afford to be limited in conducting my business as I am.

After several months of paying for services I haven't been able to use, I want a different phone model (anything with the same functionallity).

They insist on sending me a fourth SDA, and their customer service people have become parrots, reciting policy.

My son had the same problem and they replaced his with a different model on the first go-around.

I've filed with the state consumer protection agency. Any other ideas on how to get the attention of someone at T-Mobile who is allowed to think and act?

Thanks ahead of time.

iPhone data with ToGo

I have an iPhone that I use with To Go prepaid. I use it as a phone, an iPod, and browser when in Wi-Fi. Is there any way to get the EDGE data working, and not on the proxy for limited t-zones?
