Mobile / Landline?

Several years ago cell phone companies had a home device that you put your cell phone into and you could use it and extensions as you would a normal land line phone. Is there anything like that out there now?

Why doesnt nextel sell sim cards?

Our inventory manager is always saying that we cant buy Nextel sim cards...and the agent down the road from us I'm assuming cant sell them either, because they're always sending customers to us saying they can buy sim cards here.

We had a former employee that would buy nextel sims from an ebay seller that he trusted, and he'd sell them for 50 bucks under the table seeing as they're so hard to come by. All the cards he bought were valid too...and he said he bought them for $1 apiece in bulk.

Why the hell dont they sell sim cards?

When will a new Windows Mobile 5.0 device be available for Nextel?

When will a new Windows Mobile 5.0 device be available for Nextel?

The i930 has been awhile and was almost on the right track if you want to blend windows mobile, a rugged flip phone, and push to talk features.

It falls short of a few things though that are show stoppers.

1) It's running the old Windows Mobile 2003SE instead of Windows Mobile 5.0

2) It doesnt have bluetooth

3) The battery level is poor

The good: The Nextel i930 by Motorola syncs seamlessly with Microsoft Outlook and supports iDEN and GSM networks for world roaming. The smart phone has excellent call quality, a speakerphone, and an SD expansion slot, plus it automatica...

Susquehanna Pa 18847

Looking for users in the vicinity of Susquehanna PA zipcode 18847. Wondering if there is any amount of Nextel coverage up in that neck of the woods. I know Cingular can get picked up at the top of a hill there, but service is extremely sketchy. Verizon either just installed or will soon be installing a tower as they've just begun pushing service to the teachers in the area. Haven't heard from anybody with Nextel that lives or travels through the area.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike

Is it even worth it?

Is it worth me even thinking about switching to nextel or should I look else where? Based on reception quality.

NextMail PTT-to-Email is great; what about PTT-to-Voicemail?

I have been using Nextel's "NextMail" service to PTT audio messages to any email address in the world for almost a couple of years. It is a great service that I rely on heavily now, sending messages to co-workers at all hours of the day or night without disturbing them, then receiving their reply when they arise and check their email. The company I work for has offices in US, EU, Japan, and customers in almost every country in the world, so the ability to quickly leave audio email messages really helps with managing across multiple time zones when one is traveling, can't call in the middle of their night, and can't connect to the internet for email when on the road. I also have a T-Mobile BlackBerry, which is a great tool, but Nextel's NextM...

Question about quitting and signing up again

Ok, so here's the deal I'm trying to figure if nothing should go wrong. My fathers nextel contract is up and he basiclly needs a new phone, since his is barelly functions. I tried calling nextel and asking them for the discount on the new phone, but after calling them about 3 times in a row, their price for the same exact model raised about 30$ each time I called them. So I decided I should cancel then plan (not worrying about getting different number) and get a new contract thru the website with a really cheap discount on the phone. So my question is, after I cancel the contract, can I get a new contract same or maybe day after or is there going to be some kind of problems during this process? Thanks.

Anyone using the i325?

Does anyone have first-hand, real-world experience comparing the signal reception & voice quality of the i325 with say the i560 or i530? Does that whopping antenna on the i325 really improve the RF performance?
Thanks

Blackberry and AIM messenger Customer Service Please Help

Ok here is the deal. My son is deaf and my wife and I have nextel in NC. I know that through AIM messenger (aol instant messenger), I can use the sprint relay for my son to have a phone, and I know this is covered in the data plan( or at least I hope it is). My question is I have recently bought two blackberry's, one 7520 which I have now and one 7100i in a couple of days. Currently i am using a I870 and put my sim in the 7520 to make sure everything is working. There is a software called Ramble IM that allows the blackberry to connect to AIM and it works fine also. Do I have to have a blackberry plan or can I keep the data plan I have now. The only reason I have the blackberry is for him to be able to type out conversations easier for the R...

i880/i885

i looked on this website and i know the i880 and the boost version i885 is comming out soon, why does the i885 looks very different from the i880, i personally like the i880's design better w/ the dedicated mp3 function keys in the front, does the i885 have the same features as the i880?,, and im considering getting boost mobile, w/ the i885 when it comes out(i currently have a contract w/ Cingular), i want a phone w/ gps capability w/out having to get one under a contract and it will function as a backup phone, anyways, thats not the point,

i want to know how good or bad the reception and call quality is with nextel because thats an important factor to me, i live in the metro detroit area

Charge for porting?

Does Nextel charge it's customers to port their numbers? I work for another carrier, and I have a customer who wants to port his 2 numbers, and he was told there would be a $25 charge to do the port. Is this true?

Another new iDEN phone!

Check this out - the upcoming Nextel i880. Almost as thin as a RAZR, but
still iDEN with GPS and DC.

Hear this!

This is for all who use their phones in public and love to speak LOUD during conversation.
What I love is when someone gives their number out loud to either person on the other end of the phone or yells it across the room. So what do I do. I call fron another phone that can't be traced, and tell them I will keep calling them (no cost to me) to teach them a lesson not to speak so loud next time! Yes, this may be immature, childish, rude and mean. But if you think you are so "cool" to be obnoxiously loud, you get what you deserve, a prank call.
Now I am sure you probably wouldn't be happy to hear this, so tell all your buddies to keep their voices down! Or you could be the next idiot I call.
If I want to hear your conversation or...

Activation outage?

I've been on hold with activations support for about 20 minutes, my co worker has been on hold for about as long, we have four lines calling into support. Is there a large system outage elsewhere in the country?

Thank god it's a slow night (knocks on wood)

Dual Mode iDEN /CDMA phone may not come out....

http://mrtmag.com/mag/radio_idens_murky_future/ »

Although Sprint says it will offer a combined iDEN/CDMA handset, Motorola says it has not made a final commitment to building them. Concerns over market size for such a device could prevent Motorola from taking the plunge. Compounding matters for Sprint is that there currently aren't many options beyond Motorola, as no other handset vendor thus far has tried to build an iDEN handset.
