PTT on earbuds........

Can't get the PTT to work on my new Motorola Earbuds when I plug them into my i870. Are they defective or is there a setting I need to have it on? 😕

i670 is recycled technology!!!

😲
I'm sitting here with the "NEW" i670. Picture i710 on the top half, with an i560 keypad. It has the old i710/730/830 MENU!!! only thing new is MMS messaging. It's not rugged. It does not replace the i530 like I thought. It feels cheap. I'm sad... 😢

Service not carried in my area.

OK I live in a small town. when i type in my area code it says "Nextel National Network does not currently offer services in the area" but from what i understand nextel has no roaming charges so i assume that they are nationwide. Now Verizon is also nationwide and has no roaming charges and my friend who also lives in this small town without any coverage, but she got a phone through them by simply using a zip code from a town that did have coverage. Now is the same possible for Nextel? Could I get a phone and have a long distance number but only pay the $xx.xx charge for the plan I choose? I know the number would be long distance but i really need a cell phone and the local carriers don't have deals like Nextel does.

want out of your nextel contract? here is your loop hole

under contract with nextel? want out with out paying 200.00 etf? here you go.. you port you number to sprint. nextel waives all etf's for this. once your sprint acct is opened, you cancel within 14 days. they waive the etf. you pay the activation fee, and for the days of service your acct was opened. this does work, i just spent 2 years working for nextel.

i710 vs. i730

Hi everyone. There is absolutely no recent activity in the i710/i730 phones forum, so I will just post this in here instead. I just recently upgraded from my i530 to an i730. The i530 was great, and I never had any problems with it, but I just wanted a color screen and a change. Now with this i730, my signal strength is far less and I am cutting out and dropping calls. My i530 never did this. Now supposedly the i710 is supposed to be a replacement for the i730. Is this correct? If so, has anyone used both and can compare their performances? Is the i710 any better, or does it suck just as bad as the i730? I know it's not my location, because I always had full four bars with my i530. It's the same towers! Someone please reply if yo...

Looking for new phone or service...where is Sprint/Nextel Going?

Currently out of contract with Cingular and desporately in need of a new phone (won't hold charge, shuts itself off, ect.). This thing's held up well over the 2 years of abuse that I've put it through but not the point.

I'd like to know, where specificaly Nextel/Sprint is headed in the next 6~12 months. I'm looking for GOOD to GREAT voice quality for phone calls, the buying nights that start @ 7 is attractive, and I don't text message (often) or use data (though I'd like to have access to that from time to time).

I've read several threads here about the dual mode CDMA (voice dat) and iDen (DC), but haven't dug up any concrete (not that I expect 100% set in stone items) time lines, or what that exactly means to the end user.

Sorr...

might be getting screwed by return policy!!

👿

this past december i ported out from cingular and tried nextel.. well i was unhappy with the coverage after 3 days and returned my phone and ported my number back to cingular. now yesterday i recieve a collection letter from nextel to the tune of $318.02, not once did i recieve a bill from them. so i called today and questioned the charges for 3 days of service. the customer care rep credited me for everything but my 3 days of service and the 36 dollar act fee. now my question is should i be charged the act fee for having it only 3 days. with cingular if you cancel in 3 days its like you were never there and owe nothing. please any advice would be greatly appreciated.

i870

Anyone have the 870 and how do you find the bluetooth connection? I tried one for a few days and returned it because the headsets I tried all had a ton of static if you moved at all. The phone was never more than 10 feet away. Help if you can. Thanks!

Whats going on?

Does anyone at all have any information about the future of the Nextel National Network? I have a Nextel i530 phone now, as well as several other people in my family, and we use Direct Connect all the time around our farm here in rural northern Ohio. It works great, great service, can't complain one bit, and we are actually beginning to rely on it. If they are planning to phase out Nextel's network in 2010 (which I honestly can't believe will happen), we will all have to change to Sprint's network. I will not be able to get any service here any longer because from looking at a couple friends' Sprint phones, they get nothing anywhere around this area except roaming, and if it's going to do that, you might as well just subscribe to Alltel ...

nextel family plans

Now, you can get a fair and flexible family plan with nextel. They are the same plans as the sprint versions, but instead of mobile to mobile, you get walkie-talkie for free. I think they should include mobile to mobile, but I still think nextel really needed this.
