Has any one else had a problem with the i850 freezing, then rebooting itself periodically. Design flaw, or problem unit.

I read somewhere that last year NEXTEL upgraded their towers from 3:1 to 6:1. What does this mean? I also was looking at the i860 product page on the Motorola IDEN site and it had IDEN 900 listed as one of the operating frequencies for the i860. I thought IDEN was only 800 mhz?

Hi all, I purchased a new in box i835 from eBay a few months ago to use with my existing Nextel number and rate plan. I popped the SIM chip in the i835, and the cell and DC work perfectly. TeleNav even works correctly.

However, when I try to go the web browser, I get ann error message that says "unsupported content type".

Any way around this??

ok i have a wop load of cellular contracts i have to finish and i'm up to my @$$ in cell bills. some are lower because they are dealer plans 😛 . so they don't count.

basically the only national carrier i don't have is nextel. alot of my family has nextel because they are into klacking or as its known chirping or dc'ing. my uncle and my girlfriend want me to get one i might but my uncle lives in north carolina and im in pa in a partners area. since i'm in a partners area i cant buy from the web 🙄 , but i understand 😛 . on the web i cant find any walkie talkie plans that allow national DC. are there any, and what are cost? is it an add-on i'm missing? and if i don't get it what are the charges for dc'ing out of my area?

I currently am considering switching to Nextel. I am with Verizon ( Americas best network), i have been with for 8 years but ever since the upgraded to th 2G network my calls are not as clear, I drop a lot of calls, and for 1950 mhz to be stonger than the 850 they were at before I can't get signal in most buldings or at work on the shop floor. My former and current employers use Nextel phones and they seem 2 work great everywhere. Here are my main reaons 4 wanting 2 switch.
1. Nextel offers a discount to employees at my current employer and I get no service anywhere on my Verizon phone at work.
2. My girlfriend has NEXTEL and with the 5 dollar a mont unlimited mobile 2 mobile and the 10 dollar nights starting at 6 pm I should save a ton of...

I would like to know why should I choose Nextel? I live in San Diego, which Is believed to have good coveraage. Why should I choose them over Verizon or Sprint...which are the 2 that I am debating between...? Any help with which carrier to choose would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Also, I think you should know that I do not travel a lot, none at best So having network all over is really not a big deal. I do like to txt alot... So anyone want to help...?

ok i need help and i would like some input. im about to choose a new nextel phone so if you had a choice would you pick a 870 or 930. im thinking about the 930 but i keep hearing that the 870 is a lot better.

i heard that sprint charges for roaming if you dont have it in your plan. does nextel charge for roaming or do i have to get a plan that has charges for roaming in it

I once had the i205 on BoostMobile, and the call quatily was JUST TERRIBLE! Absolutly can't stand it. I am thinking of switching from T-Mobile to Nextel soon, and I would like to know how Nextel's voice quailty is (For normal phone talking no DC, ect). My firend has Nextel and when she talkes to me, her voice is really clear. Some one claify for me pls.

All I have to say is Nextel's service sucks hear in NW Indiana. Ever since Sprint took them over their service has went down hill. It tack 3-4 calls to make one call they keep dropping I get the call failed or it just hangs up. I know 30 people with these crapy phone and they all say the same thing. I switched my wife over to Cingular and she now does 900 mins a mounth instead of her 400 when she had Nextel, Since her cingular phone works alot better. If it wasn't for their Direct-Connect I would throw my phone in Lake Michigan. 👿

Hi all. I'm a former Sprint customer, and am thinking of switching back from Alltel. My question is, how has the Nextel-Sprint merger affected plans & roaming coverage, if at all? Looking at their respective websites, Nextel appears to have better prices for the plans that woud suit me, but Sprint has better (much better!) coverage according to their map. If I sign up with Nextel, will I have service in Sprint's coverage area?

what can i do with it on the 930

Does anyone who uses the 7100i BB on the Nextel network have problems with accessing the MSN portal? I can access the manin menue but it will not let me log in for messanger.
