Questions about Nextel

I am thinking about switching to Nextel from my current service, but I have heard Nextel's coverage was ok at best. I know the walkie talkie feature is second to none. I live in California and do a good amount of traveling, mainly to major cities. Will I be dissapointed in coverage/reception with Nextel? How is the i860 phone? Thanks for any help

Having customers upset about the upgrade fees?

If you have customers that have been upset about the fee, you can email [email protected] and have the fees waived. Simply include

cust name
ban #
mobile #
cust contact #

explain your customer's issue - I usually say something about how the customer loves Nextel but was upset about having to pay $36 just to stay with Nextel 2 more years, can we get it waived for them.... It 'always' works.

Just thought I would throw this out there to keep your customers happy. ๐Ÿ˜

Oh, and I don't know if this works for corp., as I'm indirect.

i870 multi media error problem

๐Ÿ˜•

I got the i870 last week, and i noticed the camera picture is worse than my old i860

its strange because its a 1.3 mega pix camera and the old 860 is only a .08 mega pix i thought.

anyway, my i870 camera starting acting up, when i go to take a pic, there are horizontal green lines in the picture, then snow or static. it went away after i did a power cycle.

now, i cant take a pic or access the media center at all, its says multi media error when i hit the camera button.

is anyone eles having these problems?

thanks

Plans

I am having some issues with nextel... i have the Local instant connect for 39.99 with a 10% govt discount so 34.99. i have the following features. internet 9.99 which includes 100 text messages 25 picture messages and unlimited use of messenger services. Also i have unlimited m2m for another $5. But thats not it... in order for a tech to look at my i850 which is Still under warranty i have to pay another 2.99... so you do the math... 39.99 + 9.99 + 5.00 + 2.99. you get 52.97.

Then you add nextels taxes and you get about 57.39. now that sould be your adv bill... even thats a bit expensive. but then lets say you send 201 text messages? then your bill gets $10.20 added to the current balance of 57.39 now thats 67.59 then add taxes to that ...

Cingular PTT- BYE BYE Nextel

Multiple sources inside Cingular have hooked us up pretty extensively with the plans on their new push-to-talk service. Basically it should be scheduled for announcement on October 13th, and will cost users an additional $9.99 per month for unlimited PTT minutes (or family-plan users $19.99). As expected, their PTT launch devices will be the LG F7200, and the Samsung D357, which itself will feature MP3 ringtones, Bluetooth, and, if we understand correctly, EDGE data. Hope youโ€™re not as sick of those push-to-talk ringers going off as we are, because soon youโ€™re gonna be hearing a whole lot more of โ€˜em.

Do the Sprint stores have a way of copying info (contacts/crap) from the Nextel SIM over to a Sprint CDMA phone?

Question on $200 Cancelation Fee

Do you still have to pay the fee if you move to an area that has no service coverage. The closest place will be almost 100 miles away from where I will be living.

When are the new CDMA/iDEN phones coming out?

๐Ÿ˜ I already know the answer, just wanted to see how many people would click and go, "you a$$, how many g**amn posts do we have..."

However, now that I have everyone's attention, does anyone have a take on which is the better of the two new Power Vision phones from Sprint... The 9000 or the a940, or are they still to new to have any feedback?

NEXTEL's performance during hurricane Wilma

Lets just say that what I have to say isn't very nice, so I won't go into great detail, but their performance was subpar.

On a scale of 1 to 10...
PTT was a 6
Interconnect was a 3

My office is very close to one of the County Emergency Operation Centers that was affected by Wilma and for the last 2 days the site that is closest to me and them has been off line with no RF coming from it.

Oh well NEXTEL, better luck next year in improving your network cause you were shown up again by Verizon and Cingular that kept on operating.

Blackberry Phone for Sprint?

I know right now that Blackberry service is only available through Nextel, but am wondering if it will ever make it's way to the Sprint side or not. Nextel service plans are much more expensive than Sprint's in general including the data packages and with Verizon as the leading CDMA competitor with Sprint I wonder why Sprint hasn't made a move for Blackberry equipment yet.

Are any other stores doing this?

You know, there's a Sprint Solutions store in the worlds most dingiest strip mall in Florida. I guess its a 'Solutions' store because for some reason they are not going to sell Nextel equipment any time soon. Anyways, I only went with a friend of mine to help diagnose his DSL issues between equip & MS WinXP SP2... The rep notices he's carrying a Sanyo VI-2300 and my wife and I both carry Nextel handsets. He proceeds to tell me that its about time we make the switch to the Sprint side of things because of (basically all the rumors and threads on this website) Sprint taking all Nextel towers and adding them to their portfolio, etc etc. Is there anything going on asides from the DoD buying in 2010 and everything else or is there a silent p...
