Sprint/Nextel can't meet E-911 Deadline

http://www.rcrnews.com/news.cms?newsId=24354 »

WASHINGTON-Living up to a warning it made in 2004, Sprint Nextel Corp. asked for a waiver for its iDEN network of the enhanced 911 rules requiring some carriers to have 95 percent of their in-use handsets capable of locating 911 callers by the end of the year.
The issue of compliance with the E-911 location-enabled handset rule was brought up during Nextel Communications Inc.'s recent merger with Sprint Corp., but the merger was not conditioned on compliance with the rule.

Sprint PCS' CDMA network was the first to offer handsets with global positioning system software, but Nextel's iDEN technology has had a much harder time developing location capabilities.

Nextel said in July that most...

Reset Blackberry 7520

Is there a simple way to completely delete my address book and calendar in the Nextel Blackberry 7520 rather than trying to delete each item (address) individually?

Thanks!

Is this true about the i930?

I went into a Nextel store and the lady seemed as if she wanted me to leave. But I asked her about the i930 and she told me it was not coming out any more. Is this true or was she just trying to brush me off?

Interested in Nextel / Sprint... Have a few questions about phones.

Switching over from Cingular leaving the S710a...

I've been looking through what Nextel has to offer an between that and reading a few post on here I notice most seem to favor the i760, i850 and the i860.

My question is which phone out of the three listed offers the best reception? With the phones able to PC Sync, can this also be used to transfer files such as mp3's? On the i760 and i850, when receving a call when the phone is closed, does the name or number of the incoming caller appear on the outside of the phone?

Which has the better speaker phone?
Better battery life???

Thanks in advance.

Moving Pictures from an i850

Is it possible to transfer pictures from an i850 to a computer through a data cable? My computer couldn't find a driver for the phone. Is there specific software that is needed? Thank you.

Cingular and its meak attempt at PTT

I just head in the Cingular forum that their PTT is going to take 7 seconds to CONNECT!

and they are saying that it's because they are on EDGE not UMTS lol

oh and the reason that nextel connects so fast is because they have a smaller network LMAO

those cingy yuppies don't like admiting when they are out of their league, do they?

downloading programs off i860

i have an i860, myJAL, and the usb cable. I need to switch my phone to the i850 to get the direct-talk feature...however the i850 doesnt have a calculator suite.

is there a way to get the calculator suite off the i860? then i might be able to reload it using the myJAL software.

or.... doesnt anyone know if there is a calculator suite for the i850 that is comparable to the one of the i860?

i860 vs. i850

outside of the obvious (i.e., button-activated flip, external screen, possible others that don't come to mind right away) can any1 point out some major differences?

mainly concerned about price and reception

somewhat concerned about OS / user-friendliness

Phones that work on both networks?

Was just wondering if anybody knows how long it will be before a phone comes out that will work on both Sprint and Nextel networks. I just switched from Cingular to Nextel.

P.S. = So far the i850 is a good phone.
