Motorola KRZR K1m

I just got my krzr through Verizon NE2 on friday. I love it so far except the battery life is really short. I have had the phone out today and noticed that the backlight on both the front and main LCD seem to be turning on for about 3 seconds and then turning off all on its own.
Is anyone else experiencing this and is there any way to disable it?

Forgive me if this is a stupid question, I'm a noob coming off a VX6000 LG for two years.

Now that I've seen the phone in the store it's obvious they goofed with the shiny, smudgy, brittle faceplate. Had to have something to make it different from the RZR, but in six-months they'll have models with RZR-like matte metal faceplates, guaranteed. And I'd wait, too.

I just bot a one-gig microsd.. I formatted it in the phone... Now if I take the card and use a reader to put it in my computer (like 10 bux)... can I manually put the ringers (as midi) into the my ringers folder?

I just got my K1m today from VZW, and it's pretty sweet so far.

I noticed that the keypad doesn't back-light (consistently) in a bright room or outside; but turn the lights off and it's consistently on. At first I thought it was a defect, but now I'm almost sure there's a light sensor in there somewhere.

Anyone else notice this? Should be a good battery saver... 😎

I just bought the KRZR today at Verizon and have been playing around with it when I noticed a potential problem.

I think my keypad backlight might be screwy, as it does not always come on, even when I first open the phone, or am typing. Even if I put the setting on "Always On" it doesn't always turn on when I open the phone or press a key.

I'm charging the phone now to see if it's a "low battery" type of issue, but I'm afraid it's a defect and annoyed at the prospect of having to go back to Verizon tomorrow and get it replaced.

Anyone else have this problem? Does everyone else's keypad backlight seem to work when the phone's open and they're pressing buttons?

I am a heavy user around 8000 minutes a month. Used to be in the cell industry and have worked for almost all the major carriers and have used most phones. THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST. I only want a phone to make and receive calls clearly and in most places. This phone also has a loud earpiece, which i need. ALL I CAN SAY IT BUY THIS PHONE!!! 🤣

Remember when cell phones used to have external antenna's. When I see the size of this phone and see the quality of the connections and signal strength it really makes me wonder why they weren't able to eliminate that them long long ago...

I am contemplating buying some ringtones from VZW...forgive me, as I have never done this before.....what does it mean "airtime usage applies"? - does this mean I am charged during the download process as I acquire the ringtones...or everytime my phone rings? - Also, what does "1 use" and "6 uses" mean? Once I purchase the ringtone, isn't it mine to use as long as I wish, on my K1m?

For anybody that has this phone, i just bought mine a few hours ago and noticed that the side buttons do not control the ringer controls as they did on previous models. you should be able to scroll through master volume, vibrate, silent, etc. while the phone is closed by using the buttons on the side of the phone. is there a setting that i need to change, or did they make a crappy decision for the flip to be open in order to change your ring settings? if anybody knows please let me know.

Can you buy the Alltel version and activate the phone with Verizon? If so, would the Alltel firmware remain on the phone, thus avoiding Verizion's version?

Why would they release a phone with no holster? I asked a verizon rep and the holster isn't even in there system yet. Not everyone wants a case 🤨

My new every 2 is up on 10/19/06 and I am debating between this phone and the new nokia. I want a phone where you can see the display on the outside all the time. Does anyone know if you can with this phone? Thanks!!!

I just go the phone and read the book but if i dont answer the call it keeps beeping or vibrating unless i hit a button.

is there a way to turn this off? Thanks

Biggest pet peave - button delay when you are trying to scroll through contacts.

Who ever has all their contacts loaded up on the KRZR, can you see if there is any button delay and how much and how annoying and report back? THANKS!

I went to a verizon store today to look at this phone. It looks like a toy. The razr, the 8300, and the lg 8600 (chocolate flip) look much better than this phone. I will be getting the 8600. Lg is better than motorola anyways.

so does the front LCD on the K1m have the same colors as the v3m ,or is the k1m front LCD better than the v3m??????? thanks

I used to have a motorola v710. Then i switched to the LG music phone and now have a LG VX8300. My question is if using freeringers is the same with the KRZR as it is with the v710. When I use the freeringers website and send a ringtone to my phone and get the text with the ringtone and download it, does the KRZR work the same is my question. If that makes sense to anyone
